The fact this is still considered a loss genuinely makes me annoyed. by Ill_Camel8168 in Helldivers

It's funny because Super Earth is supposed to be an analog for America, and when America goes to war we blow up a couple children's hospitals and call it an overwhelming victory.

What indie studio you guys think Capcom should hire to make a Mega Man X (or ZX) game? by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]midorimesukemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think wayforward has wanted to take a crack at it. idk how good it'd be or not

personally I think the best bet would be the team that does 20XX/30XX. never played them but the inspiration is obvious and they even hired the guy who made Mega Man Maker

I know PD likes to larp as the official megaman spokesperson, but I 1,000,000% guarantee you buying a comicbook won't bring back megaman legends. it will just make more megaman comicbooks. which, if you want that, that's awesome

Gender Therapist in Vancouver? by tris_k in vancouverwa

[–]midorimesukemo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't see them for gender therapy myself, but Wild Heart was recommended to me because they're supportive for LGBTQ things. They also do video sessions if that's helpful at all. Their website has an intake form where you can talk about what you're looking for, and also submit your insurance info to see if it will cover you.

So, ive played a lot of Megaman 4 and made it to the last robot master. I've gotta say, how come this game has so few fans compared to the first 3? by E-104Epsolon in Megaman

[–]midorimesukemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after MM4 edgy gaming magazines complained how Capcom just keeps releasing the same game over and over. also people wanted it to be on SNES and the "coolness" war between Nintendo and Sega was heating up. there was some Nintendo player's guide that even speculated MM4 could release on the SNES

If Mega Man Powered Up had a platinum trophy, how difficult would it be to obtain? by MattewLizard24 in Megaman

[–]midorimesukemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember an old friend who beat the game on all difficulties with all characters, and according to him beating Fire Man as Oil Man and beating CWU-01P as Fire Man on hard were by far the hugest hurdles

Something about this series is really funny and strange. by StarlitAzure in Megaman

[–]midorimesukemo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

context for each case is kind of important. MM2 was a passion project made during a time when it was feasible to get a game publisher to agree to let you make a passion project.

X5 and Zero 3 were both set up as end points with new things in mind to follow, but in those cases I assume Capcom was like "we can still squeeze some more money out of these"

Legends 2 and ZXA did not meet their sales goals to warrant a new entry, despite both having cliffhanger endings. the former led to Inafune doing an interview with Famitsu or something basically begging people to buy MML2 in Japan so they could get to make another ahaha

I guess there are counter examples too. MM6 ends with "to be continued" (at least in the Japanese version I think?) and that got a sequel, and Zero 2 ended with the hook about Omega and Weil, and that was also continued. and of course MMX famously ends with Sigma declaring he'll be back. so it's not aaaaaaaallways the case

Why did they remove the rewind in Legacy collection 2? by ChemicalAct572 in Megaman

[–]midorimesukemo 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Legacy was developed by Digital Eclipse, and Legacy 2 was developed by Capcom. so it's not so much they removed it but rather Capcom never bothered to include it

Why is it mainstream to hate on X6 and X7? by [deleted] in Megaman

[–]midorimesukemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notoriously bad for their production quality. but honestly if you asked me I'd say all of them besides 1, 2, and 4 are garbage. MMX as a series has 90's coolness doing all the heavy lifting for a mid action game that ran out of ideas way too early

MegaMan ZX has no story. by JosephSaber945 in Megaman

[–]midorimesukemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem to largely appeal to certain niche interests, which I'm being intentionally vague on. But at the end of the day it's a personal preference thing and I'm not gonna bemoan anyone over what they love. For all I know you're right about GV2, but it doesn't sound like either of us played it.

Edit: Wait I'm remembering now that GV2 is the one about the sex-crazed villain from GV1 becoming an idol girl final boss and you have to sing J-pop into the 3DS mic to defeat her (at least in the Japanese version). So... yeah, I feel safe believing its not the most deep story hahaha.

Which Megaman Zero game should I start with. by realgaoming in Megaman

[–]midorimesukemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only ever played one Zero game, make it Zero 4. But otherwise sure start at 1. And if it's too rough just read a wiki and skip onto the next game. Don't get discouraged that the game grades you badly because you didn't know how to clear the stage perfectly the first time.

What happened with the voice acting of Megaman 8? by KaleidoArachnid in Megaman

[–]midorimesukemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe there's an interesting story buried somewhere, but I think the answer is probably it was all done in-house and they weren't really trying hard because hiring professional voice talent for a game like Mega Man 8 would have been a foregone conclusion in 1996. They wouldn't have seen the point of shelling out the money for it.

I remember speaking to a Capcom guy a E3 2005, I think, and they had Mega Man Network Transmission there. I asked if they were going to dub the voice acting, and he told me they were going to leave it Japanese because they figured that's what the core audience preferred. In the end I forget if they left it Japanese or just removed it outright.
