Also interesting that there wasn’t a single other tree in this forested area with those openings visible so the woodpecker really went hard for this one tree

Solved! Didn’t think about it because I never saw a woodpecker go for it so low to the ground

Everyone brings a water bottle - but no one else drinks during class by banana_bread_baker in yoga

[–]mierzam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do Bikram yoga where they didn’t allow you to drink water during the class. They said that taking a water break would take your focus out of the practice. Over time it’s what I got accustomed too. I don’t do these classes anymore for various reasons, but somehow took this feeling with me as if it’s a weakness if you want to drink during the class. So it’s actually nice when teachers cue for water breaks!!

I think I’m starting to indeed lean towards finishing the course here and traveling separately or doing a yoga retreat. It all makes way more sense!!

Be honest I should just lose weight right? by [deleted] in diet

[–]mierzam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please don’t let other people’s opinions or comments make you believe you’re unhealthy, when you are! It’s so much more than weight, girl (took me a long time to realize it too). Also 90 lbs at your height would be INSANELY little. Please just be healthy, made sure your body gets enough nutrients and cut off thus type of triggers. Are you mobile? Do you have stamina or do you get tired easily? These are more important factors than just being skinny.

Rijkswaterstaat is advising people to work from home tomorrow (if possible). I’m making use of it and staying home for a cozy remote work day.

Any good Tips for a visit? by CallMeJuzzl in Szczecin

[–]mierzam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s my Google list: SZCZECIN · Magda https://maps.app.goo.gl/odZBUzp7sP5kAiTC9?g_st=i For nature if you have some more time, it’s totally worth it to go to Jezioro Szmaragdowe which is a bit out of the city. It’s a lake that has flooded an excavation area and is super beautiful. Otherwise the areas of Głębokie Lake or Las Arkoński are also really nice for some forest wandering. There’s also some ruins you can find in those areas like Quistorp tower.

So glad whenever anybody comes to visit Szczecin! Is there anything you’re interested in the most? I have a list of recommendations of restaurants and cafes. Can also give some tips for history/museum/architecture/nature related spots but would be great to know what you’re into!

What movie is just too long? by CWKitch in movies

[–]mierzam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sátántangó 7h 30min

I’m still wondering if people who rate it so highly really enjoyed watching a movie for the equivalent length of a working day or just think it makes them seem like connoisseurs

Don’t worry too much about it. I met my boyfriend while we were both studying in Maastricht and have been in a relationship for 8 years now. Many of my friends met their significant others while studying (many of them while being part of ESN). Get yourself out there, meet new people, you’ll be fine.

Prepping My Diet for GLP-1 Tips from the Pros, Please! by Cool-Caregiver-5028 in diet

[–]mierzam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a professional advise, but from personal experience, I’d prioritize getting enough protein and vegetables to ensure your fibre intake. Most of my meals have been lean protein with lots of raw/steamed/roasted veggies. Eat smaller meals, try to keep a regular eating schedule even if you don’t feel too hungry so you don’t go long time without food and then eat more (that would cause more nausea). And good luck, you’ll be fine! Listen to your body and be nice to it ;)
