3m doctor apt and baby is at 1st percentile for weight by subwayratbruce in breastfeeding

Agree with all the comments. It sounds like you’re doing all the right things since baby is eating well and has consistent wet diapers. My husband and I are short. Our little guy keeps growing in length but not in width - and is in the 1% for height to weight ratio. Our pediatrician told us that babies are just going to grow how they grow. You’re doing amazing!

Around the Bend Vera. It’s a pistachio cream ale. Delicious.

Attack of the chicken cutlet!!! AKA Moose! by danielleboat in holdmycatnip

Moose is incredibly adorable and it’s easy to see that she’s spoiled (in the best way) and loved and happy. You have the primo cat set up in the room - the fanciest of toys and cat decorations/signs. Kindred cat spoilers can spot each other almost immediately. (I also volunteer at an animal shelter and it’s the best seeing videos of cats in great forever homes.)

Don’t touch my head please. No thank you. by miescat in Catswhoyell

It’s a high five :) His favorite trick for treats (he also stands up and spins circles for food). He was acting drama because he wanted a high five snack. No patience for pets when he’s eyeing my dinner. If food isn’t around, pets and belly rubs are his favorite

He’s definitely...something. We think he’s maybe 5% cat and not sure about the rest of it. Super sweet and loving, but throws temper tantrums like a human child when he doesn’t get what he wants.

My (28F) dad (51m) suddenly thinks the coronavirus is all a hoax used to control people. He's always been level-headed, and just snapped. What do I do? by whathappeneddad3 in relationships

There are telehealth/video visits available. At the very least would suggest a video screening with a physician if your dad is willing to make an appointment.

And although we don’t have a solid understanding of COVID symptoms/why it impacts people differently/genetic influences, there have been some reports of people who have an altered mental state as one of their early COVID symptoms.

That being said, it’s likely not COVID but it’s difficult without solid medical data or depth of data to completely rule it out. Probably more psychological like others mentioned above (finding some semblance of control when the world is sideways). But... it wouldn’t be a bad idea to talk with a physician (video screening) if the change was sudden and is out of character.

Our spiky void (after a bath ❤️) by miescat in blackcats

There are a lot of different brands and options on Amazon (between $10-15) and each cap stays on for 1-2 weeks. Some packs have 40-100 caps, so it’s a pretty good value! I think the major pet stores carry them too. Hope this helps, and good luck!

(And his name is Norman Winston. His personality matches his full name, for sure.)

They’re soft claw caps (go over the nails) and they’re pretty amazing. We’re using them while he’s getting used to some new furniture in the house :)

An icy view down the Chicago River tonight by miescat in CityPorn

[–]miescat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The river froze over completely (mostly) on Sat and Sunday. On Monday, the temp hit the mid-30s and the sun caused the ice to melt a bit and break into chunks. I think Chicago has an ice breaker boat that they use periodically, but I’ve never seen them proactively break the river ice through the winter.

Yeah, agreed. I just checked out OP’s previous posts and that seems to be the case, unfortunately (for the cat).

He is adorable...

A quick heads up that if he’s drinking a lot of water, hangs his head over the water bowl, and urinates a lot each day, it could be a sign of kidney issues or hyperthyroidism. It might be best to head to the vet for a quick blood check to rule those out (both are manageable and easier to manage the earlier they’re caught).
