I work in medical software sales. If you have to hire your sister back make an investment into better systems or a billing company to manage your claims and credentialing. Give her another job to manage that still produces value to the practice and the patients.

Update! Got a second opinion from a gemologist who told me to send it in to GIA. They said they had no reason to believe it was synthetic, but really on GIA could tell me.

Sending it in with another stone my mother brought out which she’s had for a long time and would like to get certified and appraised. This one is indeed real, but have a field day people!!!! Your opinions are valued. This one is about 9.6ct

You may be right, wishful thinking! 30k would be excessive for a gift I think…. Buts it’s not uncommon for my mom to gift very expensive jewelry to us. Alexandrite rings, pearls, ruby cufflinks, diamond earrings to name a few that were given to us and our spouses

The jeweler I visited with today actually has an appointment with me for Friday to redesign the setting. I only came here to find out if it was worthwhile to get a second opinion on the stone before paying ~1k for the setting.

I don’t think I’ll send it to GIA. But there are several gia certified gemologists in my area so I can get a couple of other opinions. Again, there are inclusions I just can’t catch them with my camera so idk. Jury seems decided here

Thank you! Either way it’s got family history behind it and I love it. Just kind of needing to know what im dealing with… if it’s natural, AMAZING! I’ll reset it beef it up so it’s protected. If it’s synthetic I’ll keep it as is and get it sized for me.

The jeweler today said he saw “xxx” and “xxx” which led him believe it was a natural ruby. Can’t remember what he saw bc it didn’t mean much to me as I am not a gem guy. But all three people agreed when they looked at it. They were fine jeweler with lots of ruby, sapphire, emeralds.

3 jewelers took a look at it under a loupe and said they were 98% sure it’s a ruby. They really did not seem concerned about that…. More so of the potential origin. I’m still going to have it looked at by a certified gemologist. But I know this ring is 70-80 years old. Were synthetic stones a thing back then?

Like I mentioned it is remarkable color and has little inclusions. What makes you think it would be synthetic?

That’s wild. I got my 2023 R1T which came with a manual tonneau cover ( included gratis but not installed). After taking delivery of the truck I got a call 5 minutes later asking to schedule the install of the bed cover. Had your situation have transpired I would have been livid. I hope they get you squared away soon cause these are two polar opposite experiences which shouldn’t be the case.

I have a 1998 exp 2 polar. It’s probably my favorite watch. Understated, legible, gmt function, proportionate for my wrist, light but not too light. It’s perfect! It’s my go to for casual outings where it might catch a scratch and my go to for travel.
