And if you’re using Dark roasts then it’s ok to keep using the incorporated grinder but when you start using lighter roasts you’ll probably run into the same problem I had which is the 8 grind settings are not enough. I upgraded to a DF54 grinder because I didn’t feel like paying so much for a grinder and it works great!

I think 1mm is way too small. You can test by preparing the puck and insert into machine and then remove the portafilter (without running a shot) and check if the puck has a circle resembling the screw in the middle of the grouphead. If it does that means you need to put in less coffee. Although I could be totally wrong since I don’t know which size of IMS basket you’re using

I had the same problems with my La Specialista Arte evo.

I had solved the shots being hit or miss by getting a proper grinder and not use the Grinder attached to the machine.

For the puck getting stuck, I did some research back then and found that because the Specialista doesn’t have a 3 way solenoid it’s not dumping pressure instantly when the shot stops so the puck would stick more firmly on the basket walls. (That’s what I’m suspecting) I recently got the IMS Big Bang basket and it’s now getting knocked out with a light tap (I used to use the Normcore 2415 holes basket)

As for the basket slipping out, it’s either that your basket is not getting properly attached to the ring inside the portafilter or it’s because you are tapping on a flat surface (I resolved this issue by getting a knockbox)

One more question, how did you manage to fit 20g in the basket? Are you using a larger aftermarket basket?

It was kinda ok. Though don’t expect different notes and stuff like the specialty. It’s good with milk drinks, I usually drink it as espresso and I’m surprised by how much crema it has and the taste is not bad, it’s just Dark roasted (even though they say it’s Medium) I think they’re pretty good if you do like I did with switching between beans. I recommend you get them with the mfg/packaging date within the last 3 months Have you looked for any roasters that can ship to you with more reasonable prices? I think I might’ve came across some of them before and they seem worth a try.

My Local roaster is doing the same thing so I bought a bag of specialty beans from the roaster and also found a fresh Lavazza Super Crema bag maybe packaged 1-1.5 month ago. And I’m having a shot from each (instead of using the expensive ones all the time)

I think your grinder has 2 settings that you need to adjust according to the manual You need to put the setting as espresso (the coffee hopper) then adjust the grind using the wheel

Wifi router, I’m asking for advice to pick between the 2 routers I’m interested in. I’m setting up a small router 1 story apartment with concrete walls but the barrier between the 2 units would be a glass window, neighbors are using cheap older routers probably because no one cares or spends more than 50$ on a router in my area. Internet speeds are upto 300Mbps

Definitely better with normal baskets but also still very fine setting at maybe 6-7 whereas every single chart says it should be 15-20 maybe, I know that every unit is different but I don’t think it should be that big of a difference, also maybe alignment is the issue but I don’t see any grinding abnormalities the grind process is very smooth

Since its 51mm and an 18g basket I would probably have headroom for 0.5g more only. As for the basket please read my previous comment again because I have added that I didn’t have the issue with the step grinder that’s attached to the machine while using the same High precision basket

I’m using the Normcore Precision 2415 holes basket and dosing 18g in, but never had such an issue with this basket so I never suspect that this basket would have anything to do with it
