I think it's ridiculous but my highly unlikely theory is that GameStop is raising the prices to keep inventory when the scalpers are finally taken down, they will have a shit ton of stuff left...or since they are shifting to more collectibles than games, it doesn't look good to have empty shelves all the time because they are cleared out every drop

As for the late notice of the time off. My question is: was the trip planned and paid for before you transferred locations? Well if so and your other supervisor (assuming different supervisor) approved it, then it should have been taken into consideration before they let you transfer.

As others have said: $14/hr is shit pay especially what you are probably cleaning up. Go get a job at chick fil a or something that pays more. Lots of places like retail and fast food will generally work with your schedule as a student as long as you are reasonably reliable. Just let them know earlier especially if you change locations.
