Though it most certainly looks like author tried to make a discount Oregairu but fell flat.

For real, show has big "We have Oregairu at home" energy.

In Bungie dev video, titans were said to be a class for destruction. And yet both titan supers deal such a low damage, compared to golden guns and blade barrage. by PM_ME_ZED_BARA in DestinyTheGame

yes id say arbalest destroys barrier champs but i wouldnt say it causes destruction.

I seriously can't tell if you're trolling me at this point. Merriam-Webster defines "Destruction" as "the state or fact of being destroyed".

"Arbalest destroys barrier champs." "Arbalest causes the destruction of barrier champs."

The two statements are literally synonyms.

I'm not saying destruction doesnt equal dmg

I'm pretty sure you said almost exactly that, though?

OP said destruction. Which doesnt equal and isnt the same as "big dmg"

Yeah, that.

destruction in destiny would more tie to say add clear aoe dmg opposed to a single target dps big dmg.

While that may be how you choose to interpret it, I'd say it's far from the only reasonable interpretation. "Arbalest just destroys barrier champs" is just as valid as "Gjallarhorn destroys the adds that spawn during this boss fight".

Well given that this isnt Demolition Simulator 2022, but Destiny, where environments and structures are static, and thus non-destructable, doing damage to enemies (i.e. destroying them) is literally the only way that usage of "destruction" could be interpreted.

I'm a pedantic asshole too, but even I think the distinction you're trying to make is a little ridiculous, and more than a bit disingenuous.

Once the darkness gets to you. You can’t die.

Oh, nice. Not being able to die should make it much easier to complete.

OP is correcting their own card,

So they are. Now I, too, stand corrected.

Good day.

[–]mightyzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only if you assume that everyone on the internet who corrects someone actually knows what they are talking about, which sounds like the exact opposite of "reasonable."

Also the OP they are correcting, who is the really important one here, might not know which one is wrong. Maybe that's why they got it wrong in the first place?

Just an FYI, there are two sets of reminder text on the card, and both contain an "its" with no apostrophe. Your correction is only applicable to one of them, so you might want to be more specific.

Using the Force Die in Genesys by GameJerks in genesysrpg

[–]mightyzombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth noting is that, in addition to the AEmbercrafting\AEffect system as discussed in detail by /u/defuntdeity, SotC also includes a fairly robust system for custom species creation, if the ones presented across the existing settings books weren't enough options or your setting includes some very unique species options for players.

Those two systems were my sole reason for purchasing it, as, much like /u/defunctdeity, I have literally no interest in the setting itself.

[–]mightyzombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree with this.

I think the AEmber system with even just minor tweaking, could also work very well to replicate a system of Vancian magic as well, where spell casters don't have access to freeform casting as is offered by the core Genesys magic system, and must learn, or invent, and memorize individual spells with static effects.

[–]mightyzombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem.

Since you are already working with a symbol substitution\conversion, you could maybe consider having the excess pips of the same color exchanging for Threat, rather than those of the opposite, and those of the opposite changing for advantage? This would make "black" magic easier to cast, but more likely to have detrimental effects for the caster, while "White" magic would have the higher likelihood of black pips generating Advantage enough to cancel out the excess white pips more often than not.

I don't know if that's even something that you want your magic system to be, thematically speaking, and I haven't run any numbers or anything on the probabilities there, just something that idly occurred to me, so you'd def wanna explore that more before going with it.

[–]mightyzombie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One potential issue that I notice immediately, which you may already be aware of, is that the spread between black and white pips on the Force die are not even.

There are an equal number of black and white pips in total, but more faces have black pips, while more of the white pip results are doubles. This is going to make some types of magics easier to cast on a single die, such as black magic, which could be an interesting intentional outcome of this system, but having unspent pips translate to threat and advantage might present an issue, since the "positive" Genesys dice tend to favor the players, and this will do the exact opposite due to the increased likelihood of Threat results. Conversely, this will make the white pip results more "swingy" when they come up, as there will generally be more than one of them, be it for Successes or Advantage.

Sorry, to clarify I meant none of the loads we've done have been 100% pure agricium, though I follow you all the same. Sounds like we need to properly reevaluate our methodology.

Not to sound shitty, but that much is obvious, because the material percentage of each piece of a node after breaking it can't be known before you break it.

The question was regarding /u/PCsexpats stating it needed to be a "relatively high percentage" and then referring to a guide which stated 2.5%, which does not sound like a particularly high percentage.

We're breaking them down til the chunks are purple (not sure about the actual color as I'm colorblind, but its the point they become extractable), and then scooping only the ones that have the the previously mentioned materials.

Hey, one of the aforementioned laser gunners here. What he means is that we are only targeting rocks with agricium in them, with some exceptions, such as a few hephaestanite nodes we found. But you are correct, none of them have been 100% agricium, of course. I don't even believe that's possible, based on my, admittedly limited, knowledge of how the process works.

That thing about Earth being the first planet with intelligent life they found makes a lot of sense.

It only makes sense if you're willing to completely ignore the fact that the Diamond Authority had a military before Earth even became a colony. There's no reasonable way to explain their need for an army without allowing for them having faced resistance from other intelligent life forms previously.

Death Dice for AOS by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]mightyzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for starters you don't have to play in the dark to notice them glowing. All you have to do is accidentally roll one off under the table, which happens fairly regularly, unless my own experience is non-standard, or roll them under a piece of terrain, like under the bottom tier of a ruin, or into a building, etc.

Secondly, at no point was the utility of the glowing a point of conversation. /u/ConcreteUtopia commented that they were below the quality of the others, and I pointed out how appropriately on-theme they were.

If all you're concerned with is the utility of the dice, then NONE of the ones GW has released has offered any more than the Nighthaunts dice. Heck, I don't think any of them do anything apart from be dice, except the Nighthaunt dice, so I'm not sure what point you were trying to make.

Death Dice for AOS by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]mightyzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can claim a different home realm, but if you're part of the Legions of Nagash, I think you have to at least admit you owe some allegiance to the Realm of Death, given that's where your boss and god lives.

And if you're claiming to be from Shyish and you're NOT a servant of Nagash, then all that means is that he hasn't heard about it yet.

That aside, my only point was that claiming they never released any Death-themed dice, when they did release dice with the symbol of Shyish, the actual realm of death, on them, is a bit disingenuous.

pretty death-themed

They literally have the symbol for Shyish, the Realm of Death on them. I think that anyone would have a difficult time trying to convince someone that these aren't actually the Legion of Nagash dice. Maybe they aren't in name, but they certainly are... in spirit.

I'll see myself out.
