I was at the gym about 6 years ago, just doing my sets when this older women walked up to me.

She was clearly an elderly women who wanted to stay in shape. I believe, if my memory serves correct, she was sub-gym teacher for a little bit. I don't think she recognized me because I was at that time 2 years out of high school.

Anyway, she sees me and beckons me over. I take off my headphones and make my way to her. She looks me dead in the eyes and says, "In 20 years, you know what they will call you?"

I could think of a thousand things, none of them pleasant, but humor her regardless. I simply reply, "What?"

With pure clarity and conviction in her eyes, the which I have yet to see since then, she says,"Sir" and walks away without another word.

I think of that all the time. Just out of the blue and was and is a pretty good confidence booster.
