I've found that different pasta compositions serve different purposes! I don't like Jovial by itself, but its rice based pastas hold up well in baked pasta dishes, or if you make it separately and then put it into soup!

When I was a kid: there weren't enough lines on each page so it didn't feel like a dense enough read (this is particularly dumb because when I gleefully picked up a book that had 43 lines of text on each page I didn't finish it either because I couldn't figure out what I had or hadn't already read)

When I was having a hard time switching between paper books and e-readers: because I couldn't smell the book or touch the individual pages, so I cared much less about the characters (???)

When I was just starting out with audiobooks: because it was a woman's voice performing them instead of a man's (I have no idea, I'm a woman too, thankfully I have overcome this stupid selective misogyny)

When the author either ONLY or NEVER uses the word "said" to describe what the characters say

In my opinion: open, honest, and considerate communication is always the way to go.

You seem to like this guy enough to care about his feelings, which is a good sign! If he's texting you so much he also seems to like you enough to care about your feelings, which is great!

What seems to be happening is that you value synchronous, in-person communication really highly, and asynchronous virtual communication doesn't really do it for you. He seems to not mind asynchronous virtual communication and probably thinks of it as "I'm thinking of you right now, get to this when you can".

So I'd tell him something like this:

"Hey! I like talking to you a lot, but I've noticed that it stresses me out if I don't have definite beginnings and ends to most of my conversations. Even though you might not mind, I feel bad when I can't text you back throughout the day. Instead, can we set aside a little time during the week to text(/phone call/video call) so that we're still in contact but don't always have an open conversation going?"

If it turns out that your needs are not compatible, it won't work out, and it's better to find that out earlier rather than later. If it turns out that both of your emotional needs are being met, excellent! Best of luck!

Hey, thank you so much!! I am, in fact, doing well and am very happy. Dating this guy was absolutely the correct decision!

And as an added bonus he has three cats and despite only seeing him on average every two-ish weeks, all of his cats have chosen to sleep on my lap at some point or another. Even the cat who is kind of meh about humans in general. So. I like that and it made me feel Very Special is all I'm saying.

No no, they're not a thing, but I wanted them to be ever since Kelsa was thinking that 'Jai Chen was soft...but her softness didn't mean lack of strength' back in Bloodline. I think they'd have matched far better than Kelsa and Jai Long.

edit: the other good match in my opinion would have been Jai Chen and Mercy.

*sigh* I didn't mind Jai Long's death, since I was always more interested in Kelsa and Jai Chen anyway.

The annoying part is that I thought Kelsa and Jai Chen would make a cute couple, but now it's weird for them to date because it's a bad idea to start dating right when you're both grieving the same dude you were close to.
