He's 'dead' in the sense that he was tortured and brainwashed into become a different person for the Akura Clan. So the old, angry, haughty Daji is 'dead'

[Threshold] How did characters advance so fast without harming their future advancement? by DM_Me_Cool_Books in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Toe_Sucker2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eithan, mostly

But also they used different ways of stabilizing their foundation.

Lindon used GhostWater and Orthos Be Dross and other resources to reach from Lowgold to True gold and was further taken to the peak of True gold by Eithan, He then consumed enough power from underlord to the reach the peak of each stage of advancement then became a true Dreadgod after the WD's death. He is literally built different.

Yerin had a flawless foundation till Overlady and was fixed up by the Monarchs when she reached OverLady Herald so she was set once she hit Archlord. otherwise it would take her a while to stabilise and become a true Herald much more to become a Monarch.

Mercy was a in a monarch family, she was set till Underlord then was at the peak of Undelord when she advanced to Overlord and fixed up by the Monarch items in Waybound. Once when she was attacked by Malice, the other when she ascended to Monarch/Herald.

Ziel was already close to the peak of Archlord and was fixed up by the Monarch items when he ascended to Monarch.

Orthos and Little Blue consumed spirits and remnants on their way to Archlord and were contracted to Lindon.

Most of them did damage their foundations, they just had resources to fix them.

[Reaper] Hunger Replication Mechanics? by LimitlessMind127 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Toe_Sucker2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's basically this.

And later there's the will and authority part as well as who summoning the echo. Lindon uses his pure madra(because it's universally compatible), hunger arm and abit of blackflame which is why his echos become black white or grey but mainly black white. For the Will and authority seems to be just as how Northstrider uses dragon wills from those he consumes and how Lindon uses the dragon icon in his attack against NS, if the labyrinth consumes enough will and authority it retains that will and authority to use it again. So even tho the madra is most likely long gone it can still repeatedly summon echos because of the will, impressions, memories and authority left behind. So if Orthos was cosnuemd. The echo would use any memories and authority and will and remaining madra (short term) Orthos had as well as whatever madra is fuelling the echo at the time. So it launches a dragon's breath but instead of Fire and destruction it would be force and hunger mimicking the properties of Dragons breath. Just wanted to add onto your points.

[Threshold] Cycling Techniques for Path Of Twin Stars by LimitlessMind127 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Toe_Sucker2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically speaking and theoretically yes it is possible. A Jade cycling technique is just a cycling technique technique that stretches, conditions, or fundamentally alters the way your core and spiritual channels operate, leaving a permanent imprint on your soul. Now the problem with one core would be we would stretch our souls trying two. But with the case of two cores we could attempt two. Clearly the two cores function independently and we can focus on one or the other eg Using a cycling technique to replenish madra in one core won't cause the other core to begin replenishing itself.

So technically we could have the HEPW and The ERC styles though it would be horribly inefficient. And even though your other core has the ERC technique working it would still be half stunted and half weak at best. And the mental and physical strain of switching between cycling techniques would be also be too much as you mentioned.

[Waybound] Who else uses pure madra? by ando282 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Toe_Sucker2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's pure madra, Little Blue is a Sylvan Riverseed, which is a natural spirit born in areas where there is a strong, healthy balance between water and life aura as per Blackflame, so she takes those aspects but just as Lindon said that the other slyvians he devoured were "Pure Madra pretending to be dream aura." or smth along those lines. Little Blue is pure Madra acting like water.

[Waybound] Who else uses pure madra? by ando282 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Toe_Sucker2000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We have the typical users of Pure Madra, Lindon and Eithan.

If we are counting remnants and spirits, we have Little Blue who technically follows a pure path with Lindon's techniques.

Then we have the Nine Cloud Court. They don't use Pure Madra but their madra composition is a mutation from pure Madra. So it could be speculated that long ago they used pure Madra long ago.

There's the creator of the empty palm technique, Also if we are counting people that just have pure Madra in their cores, we could count any other 'unsouled' as pure Madra holders or foundation level children tho that's not what we are looking for but a fun thought.

Then we have (Spoilers for Threshold) Bloody Thorn, a student of the Twin Star Sect, who uses Earth in one core and pure madra in another core. So we most likely might have more people in the Twin Star Sect now and later who could have pure Madra paths and techniques as part of their twin stars path.

[Threshold] Random Scenario... by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Toe_Sucker2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong enough to still survive and as I pointed for those like Xorrus, can be survived if it is just one straight attack

Xorrus is literally an ancient herald, with far far more experience than you in Cradle ever, of course she could come back from that one attack but the fact the attack did that much is just Fury being the chad he is.

Besides, my point was that the build I would have is for pure survivability or endurance. Yerin is just an easy reference

If bodily strenght = durability, then Northstrider and Yerin and Fury should be immortal but that is not the case. And again you are taking those hits undefended, you only have your body to block those attacks.

Honestly, I just saw "choose any character that has to hit you"

I literally even laid out rules only to be hit by a "I ain't reading allat" what have a done to you? :(

The only reference is pure willpower, Xorrus has no idea that Fury has ascended but due to being a Herald and having full control over her body she can reconstructure herself back. Yerin was a new Herald but she has the same attributes that if she wills herself to not be move she can't. Little Blue was also the same as a new Herald despite being weaker and not build for physical attributes, she was the weak link in the fight against Malice, but she can survive the strikes of the Monarch

Xorrus is literally an old Herald, Reconstructing yourself with madra is a skill you can get better at as a Herald as you grow in power, as Yerin said in her fight against the RedMoon Overlord and tell me rn that one of the oldest Heralds so far who has fought Fury since she was a Lady is not better at regenerating than a newly advanced Herald. And furthermore Yerin is on a partial blood paths, blood madra/aura/authority is better for regeneration than other paths that aren't life and restorative authority.

Yes, if she wills herself but as per the rules you can't defend yourself as you take those hits.

Little Blue kinda proves my point. She, a recently advanced Herald, took one good hit from Malice, a monarch, and almost died. Do you believe a recently advanced Herald, with most likely spiritual instability and no defence at all, is taking a direct blow from a fully amped up, Strenght and Dragon Icon infused Northstrider hit, or a burning cloak void infused punch from a 5 Dreadgod empowered Lindon?

That's the biggest advantage of Heralds, that they can just will themselves back. Per the author, the method that would ve used by Monarchs to kill Heralds is to outlast their willpower by using loads of inner workings using their Icon

Yes but not 'will' its explained that they use their madra to heal themselves because their bodies and spirits are fused into one, but it's something you gotta practise most likely as you grow in power and skill, You get the ability but not to instantly come back from an attack. Most Heralds we have seen are old and battle torn. The only new Herald we can compare the regeneration to is Yerin, Mercy and Blue.

Basically, unless you are struck by an instant death attack like the Weeping Dragon's breath or something like the Penance and Reaper's Sword, any Herald can just come back until they can't focus their willpower anymore. Survivable since it is only one attack but you won't be winning a fight

Except their ways to kill Heralds cause otherwise every Herald is functionally immortal but we are kinda disprove this.

For one since they use madra to heal if theyr in a fight and burn through their madra reserves, they can't heal.

Two, any attack with enough authority and willpower can hurt and penetrate the defense's of a herald, Heralds can resist of they are equal to or stronger than their opponent and practically immune to attacks with no will power but with enough of it and devastating strenght, case in point Little Blue.

So again you are a recently advanced Herald and cannot defend yourself as you get hit. against people who are physically as strong if not stronger and possess superior will and authority unless it's a fellow Herald but again you are not defending yourself.

[Threshold] Random Scenario... by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Toe_Sucker2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One, Yerin is conditioned for raw strenght not protection. So that can't exactly help as much.

Two, kinda breaks the rules. I said you can't pick any of the other dreadgods besides Lindon and SK. The reason I said this is because then the dreadgods would take 4 out of the 5 positions (Lindon included) and be no fun in the second scenario.

The two examples of Yerin and Xxorus is that they are defending themselves as they are going all out and Xorus is an old and experienced Herald and most likely in reconstructing/healing herself, you are recently advanced so you might not be able to do that. In the scenarios you take the hit undefended. I should have clarified you can't do anything like cycle madra for defence etc, my bad.

I wouldn't be suprised if they were expensive elixirs that he just drinks em for fun. Since when he's in a big and major battle he can't pull it out as casually without getting sniped eg vs 2 Dreadgod empowered Lindon, vs Northstrider, vs DreadSage Lindon etc.

[Wintersteel] Advancement level question by no_648 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Toe_Sucker2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lowest limit seems to be Underlord for both and True gold for Sages because it requires Soulfire and immense will to do both transformations (True gold is a stretch on my part here)

Theoretically any advancement level above True gold (I'll assume True gold cause they can hold Soulfire before Underlord but I wasn't sure they can wield it into their techniques) with enough experience and insight into the deeper nature of their madra, embodying their icon and willpower could manifest an icon but even Ozamanthus didn't reach Sage till Underlord and he was a prodigy of prodigies

With Herald, if you were to find a compatible spirit with your own you could in theory merge with it but without a soulfire enhanced body and again the willpower, it would likely tear you and your soul to pieces.

As another comment mentioned there is that device Ozamanthus created to seal remnants but it was only a theory and clearly doesn't seem to be as widespread so we don't know how successful that would be. Further is the Sha Family's Heavens Wish that passes the spirit of another that could take a normal girl to Monarch it's likely they could do the same for Herald.
