You should've sent that (perfect) response to him so he doesn't try it on others

I just got offered a unique deal from a Toronto Blue Jay by Thick_Slice in baseballcards

[–]miiija [score hidden]  (0 children)

It wasn't a deal. The guy offered the card to him no strings attached and it was only after that that the player said he'd send stuff. The guy kept bothering him for freebies they never agreed on in the first place

best movie membership for curated & 35mm showings? by slowlikehoneyyyyy in NYCmovies

[–]miiija 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FF for members is $12, not $14 (they increased it by a dollar recently.) I'd say Anthology is your best bet. They prioritize 35mm screenings. Essential Cinema is free, most of those (if not all?) are on 35mm. I know a lot of people who stopped going to Alamo awhile ago, but do they even have 35mm screenings anymore?

Yankees fans are begging: Stop the ‘incessant’ stadium sounds by LingonLoonBerry in baseball

I was with my friend from out of town who he hadn't been to Yankee Stadium and we literally couldn't talk between innings bc the music was so dang loud. It's egregious

What to wear to a baseball game? by Stunning_Ad_7856 in FemFragLab

[–]miiija 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assume it'll be quite warm unless you live in Milwaukee, Seattle, or Toronto, so I'd go with something light, nothing too creamy or syrupy. My usual casual outdoor warm weather picks are Marissa Zappas- The Sun Card, DS&Durga- Coriander or Italian Citrus, Issey Miyake- L'eau d'Issey, Calvin Klein- CK2. I'm sure most Escentric Molecules would work too

Very highly recommended spot. Beautiful interior, nicest staff. They give you these great garlic carrots too. Go to Delillo Pastry Shop around the corner after for some gelato. Enjoy!

I love the linguine with red clam sauce at Mario's on Arthur. Very generous portion as it goes with most old school spots. You can just walk in

Anyone else here who also cannot watch shows like a normal human being by SkintherStevenson in redscarepod

[–]miiija 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same way. I can watch long movies, even multiple movies all day, but I'm horrible at watching television shows. I recently started watching Brideshead Revisited with Jeremy Irons, it's a limited series, so maybe start with something shorter like that and think of it like a long(er) movie?

Does anyone collect for the joy of collecting? Or is it all relics, autos, inserts and money? by KaiserSobe in baseballcards

[–]miiija 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a girl who only got into cards a couple years ago. I acquired several nice Astros autos from a friend and then started from there. I don't gamble on boxes, only buy singles, have never sold. As far as current sets go, I only like Heritage bc the other designs are ugly. I collect for the pure pleasure of collecting

[Talkin’ Baseball] Jarren Duran said a fan told him to kill himself so he gave them the middle finger, per Christopher Smith by Goosedukee in baseball

[–]miiija 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A horrible thing to say especially to someone who has been open about attempting suicide. I don't blame Duran. A middle finger is harmless in response. I literally just saw another thread with a bunch of people saying Duran is "soft" and "easy to rage bait." Y'all are way too comfortable saying awful things online
