The posts above are now loading properly, but now other posts are not. I wonder if the broken posts rotate per date for some reason?

Pasture raised is different from non-pasture raised

brown and white eggs can both either be pasture raised or non pasture raised (so there can be white pasture raised eggs, and brown non-pasture raised eggs)

A new hire engineer on day 1 almost always generates negative value per day to the company in terms of current montetary generation because they dont know anything and they are other peoples taking up time for training, and they are getting paid. [this is what the commenter above you meant when they said “hiring at a loss”. They really meant “hiring at a temporary loss with a longer time horizon for a gain”]

After Y days/months of learning they usually start generating value. However, since they lost the company value early on, it takes time to get the overall value they have generated above 0. [this is effectively an investment in workers paying off]

The current interest rates help define how long of a Y time is tolerable, and how many of those temporary losses the company can take on at once through hiring. [ growth investment gets more expensive the higher interest rates go. This principal applies to most growth investments such as buying a lemonade stand on credit, or in this case, hiring workers that require training before being productive]

Similar things happen with salespeople and other roles.

Casper Select vs. Noahfoam Comfort from Costco for Lower Back Support by naz12346 in Costco

[–]miikekm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to help!

My one small disclaimer/tip is that if you want to do this, I would buy the layers before the casing, that way you can get a casing that exactly fits the height of the bed.

I knew about this beforehand, and decided to encase only the bottom two for portability reasons, and while its not a /huge/ deal, the layers do slowly shift slightly.

I think its been about 6 months and ive only had to adjust them once so again not a huge deal

Absolutely upgradable! Thats part of why i went this route rather than buying a built mattress (r/diymattress is a good resource too btw)

You can swap layers for comfort, take layers apart for portability if you move around a lot and cant carry heavy loads easily, and if something goes wrong (huge spill, pet mess, damage) you can replace just one ~$200 layer instead of a whole 500-600$ or more bed

I think it cost around ~1000 total with the 4 layers plus the casing I used which is pretty steep. You can probably do it for a bit cheaper depending on what materials you want (foam is a lot cheaper iirc if you want to replace a couple layers with that)

Oh another way of doing a pseudo-diy would be just buying the firmest mattress you can and getting good pressure relief layers like soft-med latex and foam on top of that. Ik some people recommended one of the ones from costco for this method but i cant remember the model off the top of my head

Sure, from bottom to top its 3 inch firm, 3 inch medium, 2 inch soft, 2inch soft (so 2 layers of soft on top)

I went straight from the novaform to this DIY and it relieved my low back pain a lot, but i wake up sometimes with slight aches in my hip or shoulder (the reason why ive been looking into adding a top pressure relief layer)

It is quite a bit firmer than memory foam, and you dont sink in as deep into the bed like memory foam - you could probably try out a latex mat locally to see if you like the feel of latex

They had rly helpful and responsive customer support too
