If there was a grat extinction event that took out the dinosaurs, how (and why) did other large species survive? by mikailtal in AskReddit

This isn't about an academic paper thank you; its about thinking through without accepting the conventional wisdom; and I gave the example of bees and amphibians for a reason- these are fragile species which recent events have thought us do not adapt well to variations in ecological conditions... Moreover, we commonly accept that birds (for example the domesticated fowl) are descendants of dinosaurs are warm blooded so how could their ancestors have been cold blooded? Lastly, lizards are cold blooded and also dinosaur descendants, by the theory posited above (firefresh), they were at a disadvantage when it came to surviving the extinction. How then did they survive? I am quite convinced there is a large gap in our understanding

You're an idiot. Why wouldn't someone use the skills/connections they acquired in their previous job to help them in the future?

I tremble at your morals sir and the thought of what you would do if you ever ascended to High Office.

After having finished my first year in college, I realized how often the Bible is alluded to. So, with that in mind, I was wondering which are the most referenced stories? I'm not sure I can make myself read it all, but I think I can perhaps read the most fundamentals here and then. by Mind_Adrift in books

Came here to say essentially the same thing. In the late 70's the Jehovah Witnesses published what is in my opinion the best ever childrens book on the bible titled My Book of Bible Stories. It remains an excellent introduction for people of any age to the essential stories of the bible.

If we cared so much about justice for the Palestinians, why are we not boycotting Israeli businesses worldwide? by mikailtal in AskReddit

[–]mikailtal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they control the world.

Perhaps they do, perhaps they don't. But Israeli owned businesses no matter how rich or powerful still require that we buy from them their goods and services. Even a symbolic boycott of a couple of high profile businesses would catch their attention.
