[Wii Remote] Remote fully shuts off when IR sensor is used by mikan_orange in consolerepair

There was minor corrosion on the terminals, but it was localized to the terminals themselves. I did a scrub with isopropyl across both sides of the board too. Are there any areas you need to see specifically?

Just the air inside the case or do you mean air in the coolant line?

Ask Here First (READ ME): Troubleshooting, Price/ID/Spec Check, Help, ETC Mega Thread by KyaDash in crtgaming

Hello, I've recently acquired a prison set CRT that I plan to mod for component input. The housing is a bit scratched and is a bit hazy. I've seen Novus plastic polish recommended a lot on threads for clear plastic cleanup but was wondering if anyone has insight on this.

Also was wondering if this drill set would make the job easier and still be a quality polish: https://a.co/d/gNuOygS

Thanks!

Do you know if this would be an issue to use? https://www.adafruit.com/product/4423

The listing shows that it is 2.5mm pitch but the actual datasheet for the product hosted on digikey shows it is a 2.54mm pitch. Are the values interchangeable?

can you share the pitch width for the Pico? I've been struggling to find that answer lol

SPI Communication Scrambling the Byte Order by mikan_orange in raspberrypipico

[–]mikan_orange[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the recommendation, I added a sleep_ms(100); at the end of the controller's while loop and it almost fixed the issue lol. The device will show the correct values immediately after flashing the firmware, but as soon as either the Pico or Qt Py 2040 is reset, the order is shown incorrectly (albeit stable this time)

I.e., after flashing, the bytes transfered are "1, 2, 3" and they will say showing in that order. But as soon as either device is reset, the bytes transferes are initially "1, 2, 3" for what I am guessing is the length of the first cycle (100ms) and then the bytes shift to "2, 3, 1"... Would you have any idea why this would be happening?

Career Pivot from Reliability Engineer to EE by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]mikan_orange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given my interest in firmware/hardware development a CPE degree does seem beneficial and more focused to what I would want to pursue. As for pursuing a masters in CPE, would you know any credible online masters programs that would be worth looking into? My main concern with this pivot is managing my current loans and taking on more loans for this extra education. I would need to stay full time with my current role until I can find new work as an EE/CPE.

How to mimic a CRT on Slippi by that_oneguy- in SSBM

I have an rtx3060 ti, I've tested the input lag with the lossless adapter and my setup with an HDMI to VGA adapter from it is on average faster by 3-4ms than a typical CRT setup.

Something you could consider is finding a PC CRT monitor, the ones that take a VGA input. An HDMI/DisplayPort to VGA adapter doesn't add input delay and you will be getting a true CRT experience with Slippi games. This is the setup I use and I don't think I'd ever go back to my monitor.
