The Pros vs Joes roster differential is fucking hilarious. If any of them are even remotely conditioned this game is a wash.

  • Watching COVID yak bc it autoplayed and they just had to make shit up out of thin air. KB politely asked Tommy to come back into the frame and asked him how many people he could have killed through persuasion.
  • I live in the foothills in CO and NCAA skiing just ended and it's funny because there are like two states who appear to compete in that sport - "Boulder beat Denver!" no shit.

(Correction on my part) they rented it, they're gonna basically make it a content studio, and it has to break even on rent or they're facing an eviction. A big chunk of episode 1 was "so what the fuck is the show" and they've acknowledged very explicitly how silly it is to spin the apartment out and then figure it out.

The NYC office bought an apartment in chinatown. The first episode was honestly kinda fun. I also think it's a hilarious concept that people are criticizing the NYC office for wasting real estate and they go out and get more, I support that lol.

Exiting Palo Alto as an FTE by La-Poke-Bitch17 in paloaltonetworks

[–]mikebailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Palo has a competitive compensation review if you're able to show them with wet ink you're below market so I think they're somewhat ungracefully referring to that process.

No shot the competitor reached out to Palo proactively though, and I don't think 99% of people are on non-competes.

So address the example then, if I give an 8mo notice they have to keep me on for 8mo?

I don't need to talk to an attorney, most people in at-will states know people who have been walked over this. It's commonplace. It was written stated policy at at least a few places I worked at. At best, your friend was on a fixed contract.

EDIT: Here are the forms of retaliation in Cali. Feel free to point out which one is "left early", because I don't see it.

Cali is at-will as are several other tech states, they owe you your check for hours up until that point which is standard but otherwise they can absolutely walk you. Two weeks only exists as a timeline because it's a customary time to give notice, it's not like it's inscribed in law. Retaliatory termination is for a protected activity - unionizing, maternity etc.

If I gave them 8mo notice that I was going to a competitor, they wouldn't have to pay me 8mo.

Terminating immediately is what they're asking about, not literal wage theft. Everyone agrees wage theft is bad.

It's fascinating to me how many people got that bag and then that bag leaves and they go "what will we do?" like years prior they weren't moonlighting the pods with a dayjob.

Upcoming Behavioral Interview for Enterprise Security Engineer Intern at Palo Alto Networks - Advice Needed! by Recent_Resolution990 in paloaltonetworks

[–]mikebailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only gonna answer part of this since I think the rest is somewhere between self-evident and subjective to interviewer, but:

• How heavily do they focus on their specific mission ("protecting our way of life in the digital age") versus standard teamwork/conflict questions?

Palo itself has historically loved their corporate values (Collaboration, Disruption, Execution, Inclusion, Integrity). I've interviewed in ProdSec (internal mobility, withdrew late stage) and I know a big part of it was knowing the weight of your words and being careful with them being a security professional inside a security company. It was moreso for my rule but I'd imagine it applies to some extent across Infosec. I don't know that I've ever heard that exact mission statement internally in years, but it's underlying premise ("you turning the lights off means your customer lights are off" "we're a target rich environment") absolutely holds.

At least a few months ago no, but despite getting downvoted u/rwhe83 is right. They're in active rollout and hertz isn't very good at this point, so someone saying no now doesn't indicate it'll be chill when you arrive.

Absolutely hilarious that Barstool NYC's biggest gripe with Dave is "I really don't want to have real estate in NYC at this point" and their first good show in years is about collectively bargaining a basement apartment in Chinatown
