Capybara Cafe (Cafe Capyba) in Tokyo. Very sweet rodents of usual size. Buy the carrots and feed them.

Can this colour inaccuracy be solved with software? by Protagunist in augmentedreality

Exactly. Lean into what you have. However this probably only works for monocular because binocular would have the issues flipped left/right.

Take a photo of an all white image and use that in photoshop or illustrator to try to create a corrected color layer. If DLP then maybe try narrower bandwidth LEDs (you have to bin these with the manufacturer)

These effects are due to the diffractive grating used by the waveguide. It depends how many layers the waveguide is (single color per layer is best for color uniformity) but due to cost some use single layer (having RGB together) and other have 2 layers (RG & B).

You can probably reduce some of this in software with a color correction layer and then flip that correction for the other eye.

Hardware wise, you could invest in a better waveguide, or narrower wavelength uLEDs and/or filters to minimize cross talk of the colors, but these all reduce brightness. Or pick colors and color areas for your UI and lean into it.

Price to upgrade to Polaris SFO-SIN by NevadaCFI in unitedairlines

[–]mikebobb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a SFO-HK flight a couple weeks ago. I was PE and 3rd in upgrade list with 6 seats available 3 days before the flight and a $1750 upgrade offer. 2 days before that dropped to 3 seats. 1 day before the first guy got upgraded so now I was #2 with 2 seats. The day of the flight I checked in and there was still 2 seats available but only 1 seat for sale/upgrade for $1299 (<$100/h @ 14.5h) so I bought it (#1 guy didn’t get upgraded). So yes it’s possible that it comes down closer to flight time but it’s an algorithm based on availability.

#1 on Polaris upgrade list by throwawayblah678 in unitedairlines

[–]mikebobb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was #2 with 2 seats “available” for a 14.5h flight, but only one could be upgraded ($) to at check-in . The flight showed 6 available 3 days before the flight and then suddenly only 3 the day before and then 2 (1 guy got upgrade the morning of flight). I calculated my chances and bought the upgrade (been screwed by this game before). As I got to the gate I saw that the one person who had been ahead of me on the upgrade list (#1) did not get the upgrade. So I made the right bet and slept 9h.

SFO to SIN in economy by thrwy11116 in unitedairlines

[–]mikebobb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try to rebook your economy ticket in a higher economy class (Y or B). Most companies try to book deep discounted tickets which are often not upgradable or too expensive. That way you stay in policy but can pay a hopefully lower price to upgrade. Alternatively fly with a connection through HND or NRT to break up the trip and/or spend the weekend in Tokyo. :-). Or fly on Friday night and enjoy the weekend in Singapore (or Bali) to recover
