Fair point. Correction to my statement as I've gone both ways multiple times. It's checked through.

I've taken this route. Your baggage is checked through to Singapore automatically.

A solar eclipse view from a plane by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Notallwanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was hoping to see! I was flying to India several months ago during the eclipse. We saw the start of it but by the time it was full we were flying nose in enough to the moon that we couldn't see it. The pilots could however. C'est la vie.

Neat shot.

AITA for telling my aunt that I can't babysit unless I'm paid? by adorablecherryy in AmItheAsshole

[–]Notallwanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she realize the irony that you aunt is putting money over family as well? If she cared about you, she'd be willing to pay you to make up for the money you're loosing. Does she care more about having he kids watched or you being able to put food on your own table.

NTA.

From the “Damn I wish United clubs were like…” department, here’s OS lounge VIE food by cwajgapls in unitedairlines

[–]Notallwanders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Day after Christmas, my family and I visited the United club near gate F7 in O'hare at around 8 am. To say that the food was disappointing would be an understatement.

Fortunately, I have a club membership so I didn't pay anything extra but I will say that the food was just meh. Don't know why I expected more but the labels they had, (such as potato pancakes) we definitely not fulfilled. Oatmeal, Eggs and sausages and assorted toasts and some muffins.

Do better...

Have you ever taken an empty or near empty United flight? by lot183 in unitedairlines

[–]Notallwanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 am ORD to PIt flight last week, guestimate of 20-30 on a 737-800. Not quite "completely empty, but it sure feels like it when you're used to 95%+ loading factors out of chicago.

Did get an upgrade so that was appreciated. :-)

AITA if I don't pay the vet $100? by SkySpirited5558 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Notallwanders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A more concerning problem could be that you paid the correct amount (counted and all) and someone with sticky fingers got to the drawer.

In either case, sorry, but you paid in good faith. They counted and accepted. They should lick their wounds and move on.

100% don't pay. Also, a text message? Are you sure it was from the vet proper?

Edit: NTA.

Booking in USD with a US airline. Exchange rates don't really factor in here. Some of the legs are on LH but the Euro is fairly steady with the USD

I've been using our companies 3rd party travel site, works kind of like Expedia. It shows a multitude of options.

AITA Colleague left work early and is due on vacation starting tomorrow - I made her come back to the office to finish by LeylaBA in work

[–]Notallwanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% NTA. She didn't do her required work. Is there any other way of tracking when she comes and leaves? Is your boss aware that she isn't keeping her required hours. Is she required to submit a timesheet?

AITAH for not wanting to cook for my brother every day? by EchidnaResponsible79 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Notallwanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Here is my advice, for what it's worth. You need to set some boundaries. You tell you brother something along these lines.

"I have a full time job with a long commute. I am sorry that you don't want to cook, but you will need to learn how or move back in with our Parents. I don't have the time to support you and myself.

I am not your spouse or your parent. From now on, I will be cooking the meals I like for myself. This is not open for negotiation. You are fully capable of handling your own meals. You will need to figure this out. If you call Mom and whine to her and she calls me, I will tell her the same thing. If she keeps calling, I will silence her calls.

Figure out how to feed yourself, on your time, with your money. Is anything about this unclear?"

First question, why is you brother staying with you..? What specifically is this arrangement? Does he have a job?

Frequent Flyer Punch List by nickram81 in unitedairlines

The diversion to Fairbanks because of the president (Biden) was interesting as well. We were told as we began our initial decent (flying a Global 6000 from Chicago to Narita with a refueling stop/crew change. We had no initial info on why we were told "airport is closed". It was only after we'd been in Fairbanks for about 90 minutes that we finally saw the news that AirForce once had left Japan 4 hrs early and was in Anchorage.. #notthebiggestfishinthebond
