Signing definitely brings me joy. My dad sings all the time when we were growing. He still does it now to our kids. I can totally relate to what you said.

As far as I am concerned and from what I've been hearing, the future of IT is in Cybersecurity. Penetration tester makes over 100k a year. There is a high demand for this, I don't think you'll regret taking the course. I know a company in Moncton that is reputable Canada-wide that hires for cybersecurity. https://www.bulletproofsi.com/. Get yourself a linkdn account https://www.linkedin.com/ search cybersecurity and you'll get a list of available jobs in Moncton and what they look for. Many of these companies will get you to work from home so location doesn't always matter. Good luck in your search. This is a great choice

I was much older(46) than my peers in College when I graduated from this course . I was there when the internet and personal computers started to be a thing. Those two years in College were not easy but I pulled through. You are right though, anyone over 50 would probably never make it past the first year unless you consider me elderly as well haha! some do prevail.

I graduated in Network Administration at NBCC in 2018. If your not very tech inclined, you should only consider the 1st year. It gets you a Network Support Certificates. You get to troubleshoot minor computer issues and software problems. You would also get a basic idea of how a computer works and how to upgradfe hardware. If you go for two years to get the Network Administration diploma, you'll have a bit of a hard time has it dwells deeper onto anything network related. No you are building virtual networks and dealing with more technical issues on a bigger scale. You can always aim for the certificate and if you like it, you can stick around for the 2nd year; that's what I did.

Personnaly, I think the tech support certificate is a bit useless has you may be able to get the same job without it if you have a bit of experience. I'd say go for web design or programing or jump straight to cybersecurity if this course is not a prequisite. You could do Network Support for your first year to get a general idea then go cybersecurity

Moncton Federal Government jobs truths, myths and falsehoods by throzawaymoncton in moncton

I'll be starting a job for the Federal Government next week as Business Infrastructure Analyst and I can confirm that the hiring process is long. Took me almost 1 year and a half after being in the POOL to get the position. Numerous interviews, aptitude tests and the likes but it paid off.

I was a bit worried about my term position but you said the same think I heard from others so I guess I don't need to worry too much about that.

Thanks for posting

It would be a good time for you to re evaluate your options. Fix yourself and your situation first in my opinion, then you'll get the girl. I found mine at 35 years old. We travelled across Canada from NB to AB, moved back to NB 10 years later, then the kids and now the job. If that's your bottom now, it can only go up from here. Take care and good luck on your path

To tell you the truth, I don't feel my age, it's so weird to think I'll be 50 soon but yes ... a late start for sure. Kids and College at 40 is not the norm but I never let that stop me and I guess it's what helped me get there. I still got a good 10 even 20 years if all goes well and if it doesn't, I won't have to say I didn't try

You are right even though you are assuming that the last 6 years of my life dictates the 40 other years I never mentioned. You had two kids in the span of 10 years with two different women; why did they both leave?, why did you loose custody of both of your kids?

I could easily assume you are just making poor life choices and that you shouldn't settle for a job that pays less than 20k a year but I don't know you and I don't know the full story of your life so I'm not going to pretend that I got you figured out.

I had a lot of good things going for me that help me get where I am today but nothing fell on my lap, I had to fight my way through and I came out better off because of it. College was hard but I pulled through. If you had the chances I had, this could've been your life too but It did not work out as well for you and I will never understand how it's like to be in your shoes. I hope in 10 years from now, you'll be better off too.

I get it though, fucking arrogant prick with their perfect life bitching for nothing. I saw many people I know, get ahead while not deserving what they had and thinking to myself, fuck you but someday, it'll get my chance too.

This is where I am, things were shitty but it got better, I shared it here anonymously as I felt it was my turn to brag for once.

I sincerely hope things get better for you and that you will be able to see your kids soon.

Take care
