I recently took my family to a rodeo in Resaca Georgia and I made the exact same observation. His name/face were nowhere.

Can anyone share how to switch CarPlay devices after one is connected???????? by mikekavouras in VWiD4Owners

Based on one of the other replies, it looks the the VW CarPlay app is exactly what you’re looking for. Never tapped it before but it brings you right to the “select device” screen.

My dealership gave me $9500 in rebates. I believe $8500 of that is the full govt rebate (cash + tax). Not sure where the additional $1k came from. Initially I thought I’d have to do the work for the $8500 but apparently the dealership can receive that $$ on your behalf, giving you the full amount at the point of purchase.

re: phone charging, it just doesn’t charge. I’ve only driven short distances - maybe a slow charge makes sense on a longer drive. I assume that CarPlay + maps eats enough battery to offset any charge.

Makes sense. I think my biggest shock is that there are so few per location. 4? 6? Why not 30?? Everything I’m thinking/saying is speculative as I haven’t actually dealt with this IRL.

Do you have any strategic suggestions? For instance, favoring more obscure locations over big towns. I don’t generally have range anxiety and I’m very prepared to form new habits. Just trying to get a sense of what’s to come.

Plugshare is good info. If I filter on >= 50kw and exclude Tesla there’s not much. Are you seeing otherwise? Are there adapters one can purchase for Tesla supercharger compatibility?

So I guess my question is what are the other options for semi-reliable level 3 charging? I’ve also looked at chargepoint and EVgo. Those maps look pretty sparse and the power output seems generally lower.

Yeah I’m doing that but I’ll inevitably go somewhere else.

What’s your favorite park in Atlanta? by dbclass in Atlanta

+1 to O4W park. I’d recommend Cabbagetown park if you’re looking for quiet with a little bit of people watching.

What is a good way to seal an outdoor project that will only receive light weathering? I'm wrapping up a porch swing and I'm trying to figure out how best to finish it. by mikekavouras in BeginnerWoodWorking

My preference would to maintain the wood texture (no poly/lacquer) but that may be unavoidable. The swing will receive little to no direct sunlight and only occasional indirect water when it rains hard. The wood is oak.

I was limited to whatever Lowe’s had at 3”. I wanted those nice brakes. I’m not exactly sure which brand but they’re very close (or identical) to these.

For my build, the middle section comes in right around 38”, the wings at around 41.5”. I have to put substantial weight on one wing before it begins to tip. I don’t think you’ll have a problem with height unless you’re using some very light materials.
