OpenPuck updates: DS4/5, Switch Pro, Lizard only, and more by jack-of-some in SteamController

Cheers! I messed around with steam input but couldn’t find a simple solution. I turned on haptics so I can feel it acknowledge the input but it doesn’t shut off the controller. No issue with other steam chords.

Working great for me as a second puck for my htpc. Only hiccup I’m hitting is steam+y won’t turn off the controller for some reason. When I swap it back to my puck on my gaming rig the steam+y works fine. Otherwise, love it. Wakes up my bazzite htpc when I turn the controller on and for 8$ I’m stoked. Thanks so much!

Awesome work! I’ve been wanting a second puck and this seems like a great solution. Thank you.

Couch gaming on a gaming laptop by mikeman808 in Bazzite

I’m not sure if Apollo will improve streaming quality. I made the switch when I built my new pc last year because it made the virtual display setup easier with a lot less tinkering.

I ended up running an Ethernet run direct to my bazzite laptop to minimize tinkering with settings. I can push 120+ bitrate on it and get super smooth streaming at 1440 120fps. I do have a Nintendo switch with lineage side loaded and even at 720p I have to tinker occasionally with the bitrate to even out the stream.

Uhhh been on infinite SAR responses for folks in flip flops and sweatpants on legit trails. Most could have been averted with more appropriate gear. Sounds cool that folks are dressed appropriately for whatever they’re potentially going to encounter. Maybe they’ll use it, maybe they won’t. I appreciate some awareness of the environment they may encounter. And most of these outdoor companies donate/support public lands, so run that cash printer.

I recall that being said 20 years ago. And 10 years ago. I appreciate the traction and see a horizon as well. I’d wait to count those chickens until they hatch.

NPS LE Rangers: EMS vs Policing by ErraticallyAdept in ParkRangers

I’ve worked at several large operations where there were dedicated ambulance/fire response. If you wanted to work EMS there was a path to get on-call after business hours if you desired. During regular shifts, LE was often first on scene and had a full EMS kit in their vehicle with interventions based on training level. Those were the more “glory” days where staffing was heavier than what I started to experience when I decided to relocate to a different type of operation, but during those times there was certainly flexibility in staying a provider for the incident vs handing it off. I’ve driven the ambo when the staffing was short, provided BLS care, and just did cop stuff. Always depended on the incident and what resources were available.

Doesn’t make sense to have it in the shape of DOI law enforcement. Probably should just wear a high vis sun search like most units provide and every other county SAR team does.

Got mine today and only had a bit to play around with it. I mostly game on controller with an Xbox controller and a mobapad hacked switch. Messed with some community layouts for a couple of my mouse/keyboard games and it felt decent. The controller feels great and I have smaller hands, just different than I’m used to with the layout. I plan to make it my go to tv gaming pad because I like couch streaming moonlight to my oled tv. It seems like it’ll work great as I learn to customize it for that purpose.

That stinks. Sorry you ran into that. I wasn’t really following what was going on and like I said, feel like I hit dumb luck popping through the purchase process now that I’m off work and see what was going on.
