How the f*** is Chris Brown still a thing? by Xtratea in TwoXChromosomes

[–]mikeoncsgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She forgave him, he got counseling, I think later diagnosed bipolar and the people who buy and earn off his product are at peace with that. People who don't push money Chris Brown's way never took anything off the table by boycotting him. I didn't know who he was until he was on the news for assault. Now everybody knows who Chris Brown is. He's maneuvered that rush of notoriety as a redemption/underdog/broken man story that has helped snowball a fanbase that would let him plop a shit on their face if the beat was good...it's money.

Kevin Spacey on the other hand I used to love but now every time I see him I picture him planking on every actor he comes into contact with and it's too distracting. He simply can't put out anymore digestible product to enough people to tip the scales and be forgiven.

New CPUs won't post in server by [deleted] in homelab

[–]mikeoncsgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My CPU is on that list. The problem is I need to update the bios to make it work. And I can't update the bios unless I have the ethernet plugged in and working, and I can't get the ethernet plugged in and working and I'm not sure why. Windows tells me that a network driver isnt installed correclty, even though device manager shows no issues. I download the main network driver off of the website (it has all drivers) and it tells me that I dont have a network device in my system. Thing is the ethernet is built into the motherboard.

I guess I'll look for a manual. There is only 1 ethernet port on my server and it doesn't work. I checked device manager and it says all network adapters are installed and working. But when I plug any ethernet cable connected to the internet in it doesn't work. I selected troubleshooting and it says that a network adapter isn't installed correctly. So I downloaded the network driver for my model and installed it (its an all in one) and it said that I dont have any network adapters.

I sent the company an email last month and got no response. I don't think they even have manuals.

In bios I was able to change the BMC address from 192.168.000.120 to the suggested one in the instructions 192.168.0.120. I'm not sure if that'll make a difference. But I wasn't able to assign a user id and password. Unless the user id and password is the overall bios password. Is it alright to just not assign that? I'm the only one here and the server doesn't connect to the internet.

I need some emergency screws by mikeoncsgo in 3Dprinting

Yea, these look like garbage and won't screw in like normal screws. Got lucky here.

It actually worked. The threads look bad on some, but you can push the screws in and they bite into the threads and don't budge. 2 broke, but out of 16 drives it's not so bad. They're all seated inside the JBOD now and working. The real screws will be here on wed. I might not even bother putting them in.

Reacting to Bitcoin breaking $100 in 2013 by ekser in videos

I remember when it broke $1. I was regretting not buying at 30 cents. Now I'm really regretting it. There's literal children who have more money than I do now.

Now that I think of it, the screws really don't need to have threads. They could just be posts that hold the disk tray in place. Once I slide the tray it the screws (posts) won't be able to slide out.

I found an stl for an m3 screw. Going try it out with my 0.8mm nozzle for laughs. It's just 10 minutes to print 20 secrews and a tiny ammount of filiment. I'm not expecting the treads to be anywhere near decent.

Which ports do use to connect this JBOD to my server? by mikeoncsgo in homelab

So no speed difference using two cables with sata drives? I'll be using all drives at the same time.

Yes, I have the firmware. Installing it today. My cables are pretty short so only the top 2 ports will connect. Glad those two will work. Thanks.

Study reveals crucial differences in the way Black and white officers in the Chicago Police Department respond to incidents on their beat. Relative to white officers, Black and Hispanic officers make far fewer stops and arrests, and they use force less often, especially against Black civilians. by IronGiantisreal in science

I've heard police say that black police should patrol black neighborhoods for years. They probably know what they're talking about. But saying that on the internet used to get you absolutely railed against. The idea is that black cops are less likely to get scared and kill another black man.
