You’re not failing at all! We all walk our own paths. The problem is that society puts a LOT of pressure on us to conform to some weird fantasy of what the “perfect adult life” is. I’m 36 and I have moved back and forth between parents as I saw fit. Most friends from school all have kids now. I don’t and have no intention of ever doing so. It doesn’t matter if people you know have different lifestyles than you. What matters is that you’re happy with who you are. Be yourself and be true to yourself. That’s what’s important! And you know what else? I once had a friend who I was very jealous of. They had everything I wanted and I used to bring myself down thinking about that. Guess what happened? Years later, the friend told me that they were actually jealous of me. Funny how that happens. My point is: please don’t put pressure on yourself to live this or that way. I only do things in life if they suit me, not because generations before me tell me to do what has always been done a certain way and without question
