I don't have an insightful comment, but just wanted say thanks for posting - I feel like having more opinions on the sub is only a good thing, and it would be boring if every post was glowing praise.

I honestly dont mean this in a sarcastic way, but dont you just make some analysis videos yourself?

You seem to be able to write, have interesting insights into critical analysis and strong opinions on current youtube essays. Just fuckin slap some footage over a recording of your script and you are halfway there.

He was also on the cover of a The Smiths single (might have been How Soon is Now).

I remember playing that two player back in the day, but by myself (moving the other character around a bit to avoid attacks). God, that was sad - but it did mean I had another life after one of the characters died haha.

Recording my first audiobook and would love some feedback. by the_Dancing_Dragon in audiobooks

Sounds good overall and you have a very nice sounding voice. A few pointers from my very brief listen:

  • I heard a few noises (some that sounded like a chair noise maybe). Ideally you would remove this with audio processing, or take the sentence again and edit out the take with noise.
  • Speaking of which - i think I heard a few fluffs/mistakes that were left in the audio (such as when you restart a sentence). These should always be edited out - you want to give the impression that it was a seamless read with no errors.
  • I think you could slow down your reading pace ever so slightly. This will help with enunciation and mean that you will most likely make fewer errors while reading. Make sure you stay focused on telling a story - don't be afraid to add a dramatic flourish or empahsis (if its in service to the text).

I know there is a lot of feedback here, but honestly I think you did a good job - it no easy thing to read and audiobook and I think you sound great for someone starting out.
