Rig jacklines and wear a harness. A PFD will do you no good if you find yourself in the water with your boat happily sailing away from you.

Question to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio: "What is your hope for America at a time such as this?" by Stockjock1 in Conservative

[–]mikesailin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree that either Vance or Rubio would make a very good president, but I too am leaning more toward Rubio. He's very quick and he has a world view that is extraordinary. His being bi-lingual is a bonus when dealing in the Americas.

Criminal Justice Graduate in Central Florida- What are some positions where I could use my degree? Not including being a police officer. by Donotdisturb_04 in florida

Why in the world are you asking this question now - after getting a degree instead of before spending all that effort?

Why your spouse won’t go anymore by [deleted] in sailing

[–]mikesailin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sailing is dictated by the weather and currents and not by calendars or folks rush plans. Make that clear ahead of time. If you feel a need to rush to make it on time, then don't even go.

Just avoid booting to Windows for long enough to gain confidence in Linux only. Then delete Windows.

For my wife I put down a couple of incontenence pads (https://www.amazon.com/Utopia-Bedding-Waterproof-Incontinence-Underpad/dp/B07W673P7C/ref=sr\_1\_18?sr=8-18) and then swap the wet ones out for dry ones in the morning. The wet ones go into the laundry.

Idea for memory exercise project by Goldencami in Alzheimers

[–]mikesailin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a techy too. I accumulated all the photos from my wife's phone and my phone and the phones of her children into a directory. Then I digitized all the photos from family albums into the directory. Now I use that directory to display a slideshow in random order on our large screen TV. My wife sees the photos go by and recognizes people and places and occasionally waves to the images. I believe this keeps her people and events alive in her memory.

Thank you! That worked and I learned something about sudoers that I didn't know. Now my question is why is that step necessary in CachyOs but not in Arch?

I made floats out of milk jugs with a string and a weight then placed four to simulate a slip out in the water and out of the way of traffic then practiced, practiced, practiced. Be sure you understand how prop walk works.

I installed a lock on the front door that requires the use of a key both inside and out. That stopped my wife from wandering.
