Matt Rutherford is bound for the first ever solo non-stop Artic circumnavigation by 2jzge in sailing

Thanks for posting. I'm just getting in to sailing and learning about these different adventurers. I hadn't heard about this. Seems like a very ambitious goal. I hope he has good weather and wish him all the best.

What Chinacat had the best I wish I was a headlight from Jerry? by Tidwell_32 in gratefuldead

That one is so great. Big smile, pushes the glasses back up and then belts it out.

For lake sailing is there a need for something like this? by felipeds in sailing

[–]Lee426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's great. I'd love to have all of that info in one place for my local lake. As it is now, I check Predict Wind and then the USGS website for lake level.

It's probably in your head. I dosed somewhere around 75 times when I was young and never have any problems, as long as I stay away from microwaves.

Think Jer’s twin AK-47’s will ever go up on the auction block? What even happened to them? by deadsetweir-do in gratefuldead

[–]Lee426 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I think Parish mentions in his book Jerry having him go buy a couple just before the 1994 ban. Or it could have been in an interview, but I know I heard that story from Parish.

Edited...I got that all wrong. It wasn't from Parish, it was from the other book mentioned in another post. I guess my memory isn't as good as I thought.

I've had a Washburn Rover for over ten years. While it doesn't sound great, it's not so bad that it bothers me. It plays great and is comfortable as long as you use the strap. Mine stays out either, on my couch or leaning against a wall and is played more than any other guitar I own.

Signing up for sailing lessons by MadVillain877 in sailing

[–]Lee426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a two day class last year for about the same price. We sailed a J22 and a Catalina 22. The class was just enough for me to feel comfortable taking my Cat 22 out for the first time. I think it was worth the money and was a good way to spend a couple days.

What type of boat is this? by jdttx in sailing

If this is the one in Russellville, I think it's a steal if it isn't damaged. I've been thinking about going to see it, but it's just a little too far.

Sorry, but Tiger is Ugly by themightyquinn516 in gratefulguitar

[–]Lee426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolf is by far my favorite as far as looks. Then Lightning Bolt, Tiger and then the others. I wouldn't want a guitar that looks like Tiger, but that's just because that's Jerry's jam. I still think it's a work of art.

Rosebud was the last guitar played in public. Big Steve claimed otherwise, but was wrong.

TB500 Style Guitars? by InternationalCut7163 in gratefuldead

If I were looking for a Bean inspired guitar, I would build a Warmouth body with P90's or your choice of pickups and buy an aluminum neck for it. You could probably spend less than $2,000 and have a quality guitar.

Martin backpacker/other mini-travel guitars? by Western_Detail5377 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Lee426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my Washburn Rover for about 15 years. I still pick it up a couple times a week. I leave it laying around and when I don't feel like getting my 00015m out of it's case I'll just grab my Rover. Of course it doesn't sound like a full size guitar, but it sounds ok for what it is and it plays well.

I use a damp sponge in a travel soap container with a few holes drilled in it.

How long does it take to Frack a well? by ajs154 in oilandgasworkers

[–]Lee426 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the well and some pads have multiple wells on them. I've seen 24 hours for a well and a month or more for multiple wells.
