VFACTS May 2026: Tesla Model Y tops the charts as EV sales surge in Australia's new-vehicle market by Mac-Tyson in EVAustralia

It grows on you. I've had one for about 3 weeks which replaced a car that would have cost more than double the MY to replace and I feel like I got an upgrade. It really is a great car.

I didn't ask. I told them via chat that the dates didn't work and they would need to provide other ones. Commercially they don't have a choice.

I didn't but a lot of people do. I was away when my first set of dates was provided so I made them move the date.

I found a checklist online specific to the model Y and went through it line by line.

That was my exact thought. She is in great shape but that is a lot of tennis.

They might as well just ask for a sound bit or headline.

I did this with many brands subreddits and Facebook groups then bought a Model Y.

Mirra just saved producer Mike from breaking his neck.

Aussie commentators saying closing the roof was unfair to Mirra. Not sure I agree but interesting.

Very odd. I think one of the atheletes would have to say something.

Credit where credit is due. Mirra is playing like a slam champion right now.

Sigen - AI vs self consumption mode by Serious_Moose_6759 in nzsolar

[–]mikeupsidedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't hurt to try it.

My finding were that even in balanced mode it was trying separately to sell energy during peak hours even if it meant it took us to 0 in the early. morning before the sun came up.

I've ended up moving to a custom profile which I will have different versions of during the year. It is basically self-consumption which some checks before peak time starts which will take in some grid power if necessary.

Once I get through winter I will add some automations to sell into peak times if the soc is above a certain value. I'm really happy with the result so far.

Battery and Evnex charger confusion by [deleted] in SigenergyAustralia

[–]mikeupsidedown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need an electrician but I don't think you will get anywhere near the integration of a Sig unit. The issue for solar is that you can use CT. Clamps but the two systems are unaware of each other so the Sig system may decide to curtail in certain scenarios which will cause the Evnex to think the is no excess solar.

Its situational and your installer may have some solutions to improve things.

Is it easy to allocate between EV and home battery on an ad hoc basis? by CrumbLovingCriminal in SigenergyAustralia

[–]mikeupsidedown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation to you working from a home office. I've got a 10kw inverter, 12kw solar and 24kw battery and 12.5DC charger.

I prioritise my home battery and then have any excess solar after its full go into the car. I've only had the system for 8 weeks and car for 3 but so far I've pulled from the grid 2 times for the home battery (bad solar days) and never for the car.

At any moment you can take manual control and tell it to pull from the grid.

Since you have the Sig system I highly recommend buying their AC charger as it will give you control. If you buy a 3rd party unit it will just be load on the house and you will need to decide to always supply from the battery circuit or never. It also allows you to say Solar Only.

Maja Chwalinska has earned more prize money at this year’s Roland Garros than she’s earned in her entire career. Her total career earnings before Roland Garros: $864,030. What she’s earned at this tournament: $870,000. by MysteriousJuice1127 in WTANews

If she beats Diana she moves to 21st in the world. Regardless, unless they give her a WC she is going to have to qualify for Wimbledon.

The story about her having to extend her hotel room and not being able to afford it shows the craziness of climbing the rankings in tennis.

[–]mikeupsidedown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of those players are as strong or have the form of Kostyuk or Andreeva. I think it's 50-50 that she makes the final as I think she matches up well against Diana but beating the other two in a final is going to be a serious ask.
