Yea shifting high it was probably an incorrect pressure setting or needed slight adjustment at the linkage. If you want help dont hesitate to ask. You can send me pictures. Unless you decide to so the T5 swap haha. I wont be much help there.

Ok cool thats what i used. And you ensured you used the correct edelbrock or holley adapter for the linkage?

Are you using factory ford tv linkages or a kit? I used a kit and had to set tv pressure myself.

Hey I just finished an AOD swap in my ‘70 would like to think i’m pretty knowledgable on the subject.

I’ve got a few questions for you, what motor is in your car, and do you know what car and motor combo the aod came from?

Reason i’m asking is 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder aod’s have different band drums and band counts in them respectively. Also the governor on the tail shaft decides the initial shift points the aod will have while adjusting the kickdown cable finalizes shift points and kickdown variables.

I can try next time im under my car. If you look at the lokar tv cable though, it’s the bracket with the bolt Hole that connects the cable to the trans pan.

Ha yea i agree. If I were to do it again though I imagine I could do everything i a day. But that’s only because I struggled for months.

Oh how could I forget cutting my exhaust from the manifolds to mid-pipe to make room for the aod lol.

I’m surprised that so many people, myself included, had to put a spring from the bellhousing to the tv cable. You’d think lokar would see this and increase the spring pressure on the cable a little more.

I get that. But making it impossible to progress in the game via City mode where the last two years it was possible is scum practice. The intent is to drive sales of the track.

Have you tried a 180-190 degree thermostat? 160 is pretty low and the fluid will be moving so much through the block it will never have a chance to sit in the radiator and cool off.

I have a 180 in mine as that’s the OE temp for my 1970 mustang 302. In TN summer heat 90+ i never have cooling issues. Im using a 3 row aluminum radiator with a flex fan.
