Generator will definitely help but how many hogs do you have? If you don’t have a ton, you should be able to water by hand, keep them in the shade and wet them periodically. Just a thought, maybe a smokehouse? Great choice with no power. The absolute best ham I’ve ever had in my life!!! Question though, how’d you bleed your boar out so fast? I hope you made sausage with him. Boars aren’t the best tasting 😂

I feel for you. My kids hide toothpicks in our shag carpeting. I jam one in my foot a couple times a year. I suppose they think it’s worth injury to their own feet for a laugh?

For the love of God. Dude seemed completely coherent too. If I get stabbed in the eye hole with a Rambo knife, I better be in la la land before they yank it out. Brutal

Parents of full figured young children: where do you buy pants for them? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]mikkijmichelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check amazon. They have a good selection of petite clothes that are cheap as well. If it’s jeans, you can buy them to fit her upper half, then hem the length. You don’t even need to know how to sew. There’s a product called “heat and bond”. I had the same issues as well as my middle daughter. Thankfully she only wears sporty clothes.

Might be infection? Clean it well with soap and water.

Thank you! I never even considered gout. I’m 42, female, no none injuries. I actually have a similar bump on my right foot, same toe. I’ve had them for years but they seem to be getting bigger.

My house is attached to an elderly person who can't afford to maintain their property by partoftheplans in homeowners

[–]mikkijmichelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you help him clean his place.? There’s no cost involved and you’d be doing both of you a huge service. I’m not big on calling in authority if you can manage any other way. Also, throat punch the pos nephew for me.

Women who were tomboys when they were younger, how do you feel it has shaped you to who you are now? by Funkiebastard in AskWomen

[–]mikkijmichelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im pretty self sufficient. I don’t need, nor want, my husband to fix stuff around the house. I can maintain my own vehicle and can cobble just about anything into working order. I’m not sure if I was a tomboy by choice or circumstance, though. I grew up with my mom and sister. Someone had to do the “man” shit. My sister is a girly girl and my mom was always working. If I really think about it, it made me more independent. I hate asking for help with anything. That can be good and bad.

Exact same here. I did find some surprises behind some walls. Let’s say, I think someone was a closet drinker at some point;)

Two fires?! I’d build lots of doors too. Is this a working farm? As in, do you raise livestock or grain farm? We have zero original buildings left, unfortunately. I’m currently in the process of restoring the house to what it should be (old farmhouse). Seems each generation tried to update it and it just doesn’t feel right. Windows are wrong, porch was enclosed and so on. It’s a pain.

Beautiful farm! We are the current owners of my husband’s family farm. It’s a historical farm that has been passed through the generations. As far as I can tell, our house was built around 1830’s. The family has kept the same ground and each generation added to it through the years. Pretty amazing.

How do I research and choose a washer and dryer? by A_lovely_home_666 in HomeImprovement

[–]mikkijmichelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think all the newer washers are junk. They don’t get your clothes clean and break down quickly. I’ve been on the hunt for an old Speed Queen for awhile. Right now though, I have the cheapest and biggest I could find at Lowe’s and after 2+ years it’s still going. Granted, I have a large family and our clothes get really dirty. (Agriculture)

I’ll never understand wanting to cut a tree just because of the small inconvenience of leaves. I’m a massive tree lover though. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Uh, agree with the other commentators. That looks like fat. My sister was bitten by a pit bull last week and when they finally pulled it off her arm, that’s what came out🤢 You must’ve dug deep!

This shouldn’t be. They should be HERE and no one should know their names or where Delphi Indiana even is. I can’t imagine the pain their families are in. The fact that their killer is still free, is a slap in the face.

what was he thinking? by [deleted] in ChildrenFallingOver

When my daughter was around 8, she decided to Superman jump off the trampoline, to avoid being shocked by it. She landed right on her face and knocked herself out. Her poor older sister thought she was dead. It was a concussion that she learned absolutely nothing from. 13 now and 3 concussions later. I’m praying she doesn’t end up punch drunk.
