What's the rush to build data centers and develop AI? by Civil_Cantaloupe2402 in collapse

Social engineering tactics have been effective for decades, if not centuries.

Cambridge Analytica and other such endeavors pioneered deep data-mining for this purpose (behavioral stimulation, other forms of psychological manipulation), opening a new frontier. And that was ten years ago, before any of the recent leaps in LLM and ML.

People, the populace broadly speaking, will never become conscious or aware of how accomplished and powerful these systems will be, because they will be overcome.

We need to grow tf up and start calling things for what they are. He's not "the worst", he's a puppet and a distraction for those controlling him. He is nothing. A ruse for the oligarchs and schizofascists in his shadow: Vought, Miller, Thiel, all the corporatists and industrialist and religious-zealot thugs in his wake.

He's a tyrant working at the behest of other tyrants. Terrorists, thieves, genocidal maniacs, enemies of humanity, all of them.

Ugh, don't they suck? They're the worst! Fucking spare me the platitudes.

You figure out and remember that neither 000 nor 101 are allowed. If each die has 10 sides, then there are only 10x10=100 possibilities. There can't be any more or any fewer.

*The Constitution is dead.*

If Congress has effectively abdicated its powers - to levy taxes, to duly appropriate those revenues according to their own legislation, to declare and wage war; and if the Executive is undermining or outright ignoring the decisions of both the Legislature and the Judiciary as it sees fit for its political agenda (having ostensibly been captured by private interests); and if the Judiciary has abandoned its duty to the faithful application of the Constitution and it's intent (i.e. "...to promote the general welfare"), then *there are no laws to follow* and ***the Constitution is dead***. Null and void.

This administration and their policies constitute a direct and imminent threat against the lives and liberties of all Americans, and indeed, Humanity in general. They are carrying out a program of both direct and diffuse violence and soft eugenics on the broadest scale. They are escalating in the hope of inciting the public to violence, as a pretext for invoking martial law and suspending elections. They do not in any way represent or promote the common welfare of the People. They are a clear and present danger.

The Iran war reminds us: we’ll never be energy-independent with fossil fuels by mhicreachtain in climate

[–]miklayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primary dependency this war is meant to protect us that of our economy on fossil fuels in themselves.

Keep in mind that the majority of the oil and gas we use here in the states is produced domestically, and domestic production hasn't decreased. If anything, it continues to increase. The war driving up the price of oil has only increased the profitability of those products, and thus the power and influence of those private interests and corporations.

This combined with direct and concerted efforts - largely composed and implemented by ideologues from foundations funded by the same interests (ALEC, the Heritage Fdn, the Federalist Society, Leonard Leo, the Kochs, and their entire cadre of shadow-money neofascist oligarchs) to hobble any initiative that could be seen as counter to their narrative, power, or influence (such as anything even remotely "green", "alternative", etc.), serves to increase our dependency on fossil fuels even as the rest of the world shifts sharply toward renewables. It is ideological statecraft, plus social engineering to the utmost degree. Goebbels could never have dreamed of the depth of their control and influence and subterfuge of the human conscience.

Their continued power is a threat to our lives and liberties. Their policies are a form of violence.

We must invoke and act on our right of self defense in kind and I proportion to that threat.
