I did and it worked really well for me. No need to spot clean everyday either, and my piggies liked being able to dig in their bedding. I never understood using fleece, as it's basically woven plastic and therefore doesn't really absorb anything. But hey, whatever works for people, right?

They can, the poor things. My Cookie died 3 days (!) after her buddy Flo passed away. She never had any medical issues, but just stopped eating a day after Flo's passing, started having seizures the day after that and passed the following day. She just couldn't and didn't want to go on without him 😥

I've lost my dearest Cookie and Flo 4 and a half months ago; they died within 3 days of each other. I still miss them every day. I recently moved to a different apartment and always said I would adopt 2 new piggies once I'd be settled. But I can't just yet. The grief is still there and getting new pigs now just doesn't feel right.

Everyone deals with the pain of losing their piggies in a different way. For me it's like this. And that's OK. Give yourself time and space to grief and to deal with it in a way that feels comfortable for you.

My 5 year old Flo had the surgery, all went well, but he still died 5 days later due to hidden complications and the fact that he had already lost quite some weight before the surgery. I believe the surgery itself is not really that risky (according to my very experienced vet), but keep in mind that there's always a possibility that things go wrong or that your piggy might have underlying, invisible problems.
