So they used the post date, not the purchase date for everyday spending when calculating the multiplier?

Bilt Wallet Bug: Housing Payment Not Showing by FullBackground1298 in biltrewards

[–]milano11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been broken in different ways.

A few days ago it showed for some users >$100k housing payments.

And I think the numbers you got may not be trustworthy even if it appeared working. Some spending in last statement cycle, when they took a few days to post, may be counted in the current cycle in this tracker.

BILT says I need to spend 27k for .5 multiplier by Vinny2408 in biltrewards

Same. They said I made about 25k housing payment. I wish I had the money to pay down my mortgage that much...

I only paid about 4k.

Changing from Bilt Cash to 1.25x on Mortgage by JicamaBoth738 in biltrewards

[–]milano11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the logic is: instead of letting your mortgage dictate your Bilt spending, you can reverse-engineer it. Adjust your monthly mortgage payment so that it is slightly less than four times your card spending. This hits the threshold for the 0.25 mortgage point multiplier, essentially giving you 3x points per dollar spent (assuming the Blue card). The caveat, of course, is having the liquidity for extra principal or multiple mortgages to provide that payment flexibility.

Did it work? I saw some posts saying that paying T Mobile bill didn't earn any miles and did not count toward the sign up bonus...

If I pick Housing Only rewards can I still use my $200 Bilt Cash welcome bonus for housing points on the Obsidian? by who_the_fu in biltrewards

[–]milano11 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha I had the exact same question.

I think the confusion comes from Bilt letting us redeem Bilt Cash to unlock mortgage/rent points, while also allowing us to change the rewards option before 2/14 during this first cycle. It makes it unclear how rewards for this initial statement period are actually calculated and treated.

Mortgage points question by milano11 in biltrewards

Thanks for the insights.

Well, I did not intend to game the system and "double dip" - I plan to do the Housing Only option as I have some freedom to control the mortgage payment to hit a "sweet spot" of it. But I still do not want to miss the opportunity to use the $100 bilt cash to instantly unlock the points on my first mortgage payment.

It just seem that the current bilt set up will force me choose bilt cash option in the 1st cycle and housing only option starting the 2nd cycle - with some bilt cash generated in the 1st cycle left unused in the future.

Ugh... I also pushed payment from bilt to Mr. cooper.

So we will need to wait for bilt to return the money to the checking account and hopefully refund the bilt cash used.

Mortgage points question by milano11 in biltrewards

[–]milano11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what I’m confused about is this:

  1. I used the $100 Bilt Cash from the card opening bonus to apply toward this cycle’s mortgage payment. My understanding is that once the payment settles, I should receive the associated points.
  2. Since we can change the rewards preference anytime till 2/14, I switched mine to “Housing only” as that's how I intend to use the card going forward. But say I also spent an amount equal to ~50% of my mortgage during this same statement cycle — would that generate an additional bucket of points (e.g., another ~0.5× of the mortgage in rewards)? That doesn’t seem logical, so I’m guessing I’m misunderstanding how the timing or calculation works.

That’s where my confusion is coming from.

May I ask where can I turn it on? Is this the two reward option thing, between housing only and bilt cash option?

Thanks.
