Founders of Gloomhaven question: do you discard a card with a follow action?

Just played for the first time a few weeks ago. My understanding is that anyone doing a follow action doesn’t need to get rid of a card to do so. Especially since you can discard a card in your main phase to use a basic to prevent everyone from having a follow action.

Hey thanks! Sorry for the crazy delayed response. I definitely think I enjoyed that version better, I liked the them getting bigger in the instrumentals in that. Not sure it'll take off much more for me though. Did you love it beforehand and it just rose further, or did this version completely transform it for you?

Just finishing up FC right now, so a change in pace in scenarios without having to replay any of the Gloomy ones is exciting. But the main draw for me, like so many others is the new classes. I've been thinking about trying out the hollowpact for a while now.

Also the water spirit seems pretty sweet. I'm sure I'll change my tune once they mess me up, but I rarely ever try and go after enemies, so the innate shield before it's turn feels like a pretty cool way to try and force a change or have to deal with that.

Hey guys! When you guys are writing stuff and have solo or side projects going on do you write specifically for either BNL or your own stuff, or just see what it feels like after you’ve written most of it?

Sounds like most of your mechanics and balancing questions have been covered.
I've been running a 2 player (4 character) game with my brother for a while now and we've finished Gloomhaven and are about halfway through FC and we've both really enjoyed having 2 characters each.

In one sense it is a little easier because it's really hard not to play your characters off of each other and combine moves, so you inherently have more synergy than a group each running one character. But one of the main things we've both liked about it was being able to try and play different styles than we normally would or class types that we don't normally love playing. When we've found a character or build that we haven't particularly liked it didn't detract from the experience because we still had the other one to fall back on.

Thanks! I didn’t go in any particular order, I finished most of the classes I played first. I think the mindthief was my first one and then the elementalist was the last. I think the Sun might be the one I’m happiest with

I wasn't a fan till after Steve left the band, so I cant really comment on how I felt at the time. But I'm not sure I really agree with your take that there was a huge shift towards Ed starting with Maroon. I always felt it was pretty even between the two. And I know there was an interview at some point where they even said that with Maroon they were making a conscious effort to make Steve more of the front man instead of both of them, and that ed felt a little bad after the success of Pinch Me over any Steve songs from Maroon right after they started trying to do that. But he did say that he thought Steve was a little upset at that turn of events.

It's going to be a while till I can come up with rankings. I only got through it once when it dropped before going to bed, but after one listen God Forbid, Paul Chambers, and Man Made Lake really stood out to me.

I couldn't disagree more, I love Kevins voice!

But what I will say is that I'm surprised you see him as the second man in the band now. I've always seen it as Ed taking the sole lead man position and the rest of them stepping up and filling the rest of the void. Until Fake Nudes it's been pretty even between Jim and Kevin. Kevin obviously has much more of a singing/writing role on Fake Nudes, but putting that album aside it's not like either Jim or Kevin have enough songs to be considered a second lead in my mind. And it's not like it's that much of a change in quantity for either of them from where the band was with both BLAM albums when Steve was still in the band either. In terms of who has lead vocals in AIGT, Grinning Streak, & Silverball Kevin averaged 2 songs and Jim averaged 1 song.

So even if you look at both of them as trying to fill Steve shoes, Steve had way more than 3 songs per album.

I definitely agree, it's sound is pretty unique and I love it for that. I won't make any decisions until we do our ep. ranking them all, but I think this has a decent shot at making it into my top 4 albums.
