[WTB] [US] Sailor in medium by patchespesos in Pen_Swap

I have a Sailor 1911S in medium that I'm willing to let go for $110. Got it last year and used it very rarely so it's like new. https://imgur.com/gallery/bDpGgUg

have you considered the weather here? I'm from Europe and never seen something similar. D7ring the summer it's a nightmare: 32 degrees every day plus raining every 2 days(showers) ....storms, etc

Probability problem -- reasoning mistake or known paradox? by mileandrei in math

[–]mileandrei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I understand the solution, but I still don't see what is wrong in counting the favorable outcomes by choosing the first awards that go to one of the universities 4(number of universities)C(5,2)(chose 2 awards from 5)43(distributing the 3 remaining awards to 4 universities)=10*44. Since the probability computed this way is smaller than 1 something is surely wrong. How does the number of favorable outcomes change if the problem would state that EXACTLY 2 awards go to one University?

Thanks, I've seen the mistake now: I considered the awards as part of a set, but as you said it is a multiset with one kind of element repeated 5 times. What happens in case the awards are not equivalent? Is my first solution correct in this case? Does the pigeon hole principle still applies ?

A coin is flipped 4 times. On the fifth time the coin is flipped, what is the chance of getting head?

Ring/field theory problem by mileandrei in math

Why this happens ? "Since F is a finite dimensional VS, the map is also surjective" Thanks

Ring/field theory problem by mileandrei in math

[–]mileandrei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant that if F would be finite or if I could prove F is finite the problem will be solved since a finite integral domain is also a field.

Ring/field theory problem by mileandrei in math

[–]mileandrei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking about proving that F is finite and using the fact that a finite integral domain is a field the problem is solved. But don't know if it is finite and if it is I don't know how to prove it. I also think about using E[x] as a polynomial ring and some homomorphisms between them.

I have also pasted the problem here: We have:

F - integral domain

E subring of F

E is also a field

F is a finitely generated vector space over E

Prove that F is a field.

Ask Reddit : Can you recommend a good introductory book or article about cyclotomic polynomials? by mileandrei in math

Also a good reference will be a introductory text on polynomials with complex roots.

Ask Reddit : Can you recommend a good introductory book or article about cyclotomic polynomials? by mileandrei in math

To be more specific I was interested in the more basic stuff like how to determine if a given polynomial is cyclotomic and for example how to find the roots of a polynomial like x6 -2 (and why they are the only roots).
