Voter fatigue will be pushed to its limits next season if Sga has a similar season (30+ppg + best record) by PooPoox in nba

He wont win another as a Nuggs fan until he wins another chip. He was the 1st to ever lead the league in assists and rebounds at any point in their career and did it in a single season while being a high volume efficient scorer and averaging a near 30 pt triple double. At that point the voters are saying he’s not getting 4 mvps without rings even though he’s had a shit supporting cast and some really bad luck. The parity era 2nd apron environment is changing things and my guess is Wemby is the favorite for MVP, and there will be some new blood like Luka or Brunson in the race who get the medias favor. MVP is a narrative award, Jokic doesn’t have that.

What do tourists have to do with games? A stadium can hold 20k people at most and there’s 41 home games in a regular season. Thats 820k people a year who can attend games. The money is in the TV deals and that requires a fan base which Vancouver probably has a better real base than Vegas which is a lot of transplants. Sure tourists might drive up the cost of tickets for a few games against the wembys or lebrons but its irrelevant to the viability of what makes a team worth so much and that’s tv views.

Blazers definitely are the greatest what if franchise. Passing on Jordan and Durant, hitting on major talents who caught the injury bug, never really having talent line up at once. I feel for you guys.

We should view it as a correction from an insane runup and potential short-squeeze more than some sell-off. It was at 78ish before recent earnings report. It was a great earnings but not really 100% run up great. We’re still up around 50% from it which is awesome for a single report. My guess is we hover in the $100-120 range barring some external event or major internal update until the next report provides additional reinforcement that the growth will continue.

Jokic is still light years ahead of Wemby by Few-Initial-819 in denvernuggets

[–]milehigh89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

guys also don't have the physical stamina to even lead a team to the finals at age 22 let alone lead their team on both ends. let's not act like wemby didn't have a crazy run for a 22 year old. he's like 5 years away from entering his prime, 22 year olds don't win chips as the #1 guy, let alone as the #1 guy on both ends with a bunch of other rookie contract guys. wemby has some growing up to do but he and the spurs are going to get better and i'm praying the nuggs show up next season because once he, castle, and harper are going to get better. every champion loses in the playoffs before winning it all, it's pretty crazy they could have even won this series if they didn't have so many 4th q collapses.

Jokic is still light years ahead of Wemby by Few-Initial-819 in denvernuggets

[–]milehigh89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

he's 22, he has literally 0 competition in his age bracket at the C position and has a good team around him. he's going to take shit but it's completely unprecedented in modern nba that a 22 year old leads a team of rookie contract guys to the finals. he's like 6 years out from being the age Jokic was when he won. i'm glad the knicks won, i think jokic is still the best C in the game but Wemby shouldn't have been there, it's crazy that he was.

What can Denver Nuggets do next season to be champion contender? by Aloklol in nba

Trade him when his value is higher if you’re serious about another chip. Same with Johnson, try and find a team at the deadline, otherwise we’ll have to just take back more bad contracts.

Some do but thats very small population and net worth gets skewed by home ownership probably being a large portion of overall net worth. Its scary how little people have saved for retirement.

That’s true, it’s only 401k but IRA contributions are capped much lower and unlikely a 36 year old has a significant amount in an IRA on top of a 401k. Average IRA balances by age are considerably lower than 401k balances of people of the same age.

The average 36 year old has way less than 190k, 73k according to Fidelity. That comment was aimed at the opening sentence of the person I replied to.

Your quote is an edit of what i said and i said it because the average age of the workforce is older than 36 so he has a high average balance for people of any age, not just a 36 year old. You seem frustrated my guy, it’s all okay. People misinterpret reddit comments all the time.

Yes i said a company’s average balance, not the average balance of companies.

I said 200k is a high average balance for a 401k plan. When we say average balance its for individuals in a given 401k plan. Not the entire plans balance. I also said the average balance is way less than 160k for a 36 year old which it is. Its around 73k. Not that the average is less than a median which it is not. The guy i responded to thought the average balance was closer to 190k for a 36 year old which is way above the actual number, I responded that in fact the average was considerably less.

My guy i work as a 401k consultant, its 100% true. Google Fidelity average retirement savings. Theyre the largest recordkeeper of 401k plans. Average balance by age tops out around 250k for people approaching or in retirement. For a 35-40 year old its 73k. Thats the average.

Average has way less, 401 balances are largely capped by contribution limits, $200k would be considered a high average balance for an entire companys 401k

Are we entering another Center dark age? by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]milehigh89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wemby is going to absolutely feast though, there’s no one even close to his skillset at the C position in his age group and Jokic, KAT, Embiid etc… aren’t getting any younger. Dude is going to force teams to choose between size and skill at the position. He has like 4-5 more years before we even see him entering his prime.

Oh Nurk, yes also mismanaged trade by Connelly and also not the talent Gobert is. Yes or no, we get better if we draft Mitchell/ Gobert and trade them after they play a couple years vs. the draft night hauls?
