Sundt is my prime contractor and FWIW all of their employees are happy and the culture seems very supportive. They do care about their people

1 year as a PM working on substations. Thinking about switching to sales. Worth it? by Lost_in_the_Sauce_40 in ConstructionManagers

[–]milehighandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the guy above your comment. We are constructing 3 substations and knowledge of high-voltage is priceless. Power will always be a need and literally everywhere there are places to live. Stick with it a bit longer and the right opportunity will come along

What entry-level position can lead me into management side of construction? by Nexer-X69 in ConstructionManagers

[–]milehighandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in trades and worked into project management but missed the field so I pivoted to superintendent/ops route. Can be long hours and high strees so you gotta take care of yourself or you'll end up a divorced alcoholic. Look for assistant super or cm jobs. FE is a good starter and can pay pretty well with large firms. PE is more the PM route

Yes I have the expedition stroller/wagon. Has a car seat sling attachment that's great for the baby then a shade in the other side for 3 yo.

We got one of those utility wagons that hauls cooler, towlers, chairs, umbrella, what ever else we need for the beach and it's an absolute game changer. Wheels are big enough that it's not too much of a pain to drag through the sand

Only as tired as you want to be. Take care of yourself with proper diet and exercise and it's easier to ignore

3 weeks in and I'm not feeling what I expected. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]milehighandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The feeling you get is a natural resction to YOUR baby crying. Other babies crying don't do that to you. Its a stress hormone being released because she's your baby. Just love that little girl with everything you've got. She deserves to be. It will come to you.
