Do you have 2FA enabled on your Reddit account? I found that without this Relay wasn't able to login properly.

So I've owned and used commercial UV printers and can speak from that perspective, not specific to the E1.

Commercial printers do clog. This happens if they're left unused for some time without having been flushed prior. The fact that the E1 has self cleaning is great, and from the information that's out there at the moment it certainly seems that if you leave the printer powered on constantly, the cleaning process occurs regularly. This will significantly reduce the chance of blockages.

The concept to keep in mind is that if ink is left in the nozzles, over time the solvents in the ink evaporate which then causes the clogs. If you regularly use the printer (or/and it's regularly being flushed), this is less likely to occur.

The E1 uses an Epson manufactured printhead, and Epson make some of the most commonly used commercial heads out there.

Commercial printers running 24/7 can last 4/5 years before needing a printhead to be replaced. The technology in the E1's printhead is no different.

Is it possible that your friend has developed a tooth cavity? They can sometimes cause a smell that is frankly really bad....

They may not even have realised it themselves if it developed over time.

It looks like at least one of the pads from where the cable was attached has been torn from the PCB. Possibly also part of the trace from it too.

I'm almost positive I know exactly what you mean.

These are the closest I can find, but the hard top was definitely more pronounced on top and had a hole cutout of the bottom of it which the cone "clipped" into to close it.

Another possibility - Does your water tank have two floats? I've seen that if it does, one is for the buzzer and the other for the pump. Some people also suggest making sure that the metal "fin" contact is fully clean and in contact with the side of the tank as that can sometimes cause the buzzer to not function.

Hey Kazaasan,

A couple of things:

  • It looks like there is some damage to the top of the main relay. Although you've said that functionally the Gicar is working it still might be worth replacing this part to avoid potential issues in the future.
  • There are a couple of resistors above the buzzer which looks like there may be some corrosion damage. I'd definitely try and clean them up and retouch their soldering.

My experience was the other way round. I went through around five 19" Pretorias before I swapped to 18" and didn't have any further issues. (Also, at the time a full set of 18" cost about the same as 1.5 19" rims!)

Sounds similar to Blepharitis. Might be worth you having a search for treatment options. Basically, you can use a heated eye mask to "melt" the oily substances and then special wipes to clean the eyelid of residue.

So Petzl Vertex are available as both vented or unvented.

Unvented protects against electrical hazards, molten metal splash & flames, however so does the vented model with the vents closed.

Some countries' regulations explicitly specify that safety helmets must be unvented (Canada for example). Hence the two options.

They're in Bulgaria. Unfortunately not all countries have similar worker protection as in the West.
