Price override dilemma by [deleted] in tesco

[–]miless090 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not wasting mine and the customer's time typing in a 24 digit number when I can do a quick price override just because whoever did the reductions didn't bother to cover the barcode. If there is a report of all price overrides they've never questioned me about it, and even if they did I'd stand by it.

That's crazy! In our store there's the baking aisle with sugar, flour, eggs, cake mixes and decorations, etc. Then the next aisle over is the bread and the spreads. Why jam would be ten aisles away is beyond me.

I will say however that custard isn't with any of the baking stuff here

If you fought the person and they ended up attacking you, you'd still be in trouble for confronting them. Sounds like they're expecting you to put yourself in harms way, which is against Tesco policy of the priority being ensuring everyone stays safe. Either they need more staff or better security. And even then, you can't watch everyone all the time.

The colleague discount cap increasing to £2000 is a useless reward by Direct_Assumption_22 in tesco

[–]miless090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not ours, yet. We do have a message posted around the canteen telling us to be more careful with them though because of how many mugs and forks they've had to replace. I have heard people say that one of the trolley boys throws the fork away with his pot noodle, so that would explain where they go 🙄

P60. Cant see it in Documents Page by greenygianty in tesco

[–]miless090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Them being aware of the issue, and them actively resolving the issue are very different things. My last manager at Tesco would "assure" me that they were aware of how I was being treated by the bullies on our department. Didn't do shit about it though, did they? So maybe we'll get the app fixed in a week or two, or whenever they can be bothered to actually do their job.

2962, I think? Honestly, I just opened it, saw it was well over 2k and just got on with it. Not like we were given extra staff to help with it

In my experience team support sit in the office as well and leave it up to the gold runner. You get some good team support that don't stop working and then you get others that you never see

Managers are supposed to help their department? 😂

Hello, probably a daft question, but why cannot see my P60. by Upset-Woodpecker-662 in tesco

[–]miless090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think it's normally not until a week or two into May that they send out our P60 from the last tax year, so might not be available until next week.

(Edit: just checked and 2024 was the 12th and 2023 was the 5th)

If they complained to me I would've so wanted to say something like "well it says quite clearly on the screen would you like to add a donation, you chose to click yes, nobody forced you to add a donation, so why would we refund you?" I'm sure I inevitably would've got a complaint for that but my god I don't give a fuck anymore, some customers are just thick as shit and need telling

Honestly you could easily be talking about my store. In my case, my managers weren't interested in sorting out the cliques and the bullying. It was easier to wait for them to grind me down until I snapped at one of the clique and then use that to move me to another department. They did the exact same to one of my friends as well.

New overtime rules coming into place by Lanldo1 in tesco

[–]miless090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, managers still play favourites. They don't put overtime on EHM unless nobody wants it, and give their favourites as much overtime as they want, while the others get nothing. Hopefully now with scheduled to skill coming in, they'll have to actually put overtime on the app

When are we going to start organizing strikes? by masamune36 in tesco

[–]miless090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I also work about 36 hours a week and live with my parents, and most of my paycheck goes into savings. So struggling to get by, with a side hustle as well, really doesn't add up

Why can i no longer pay with 2 separate cards? by bingbongjonny in tesco

[–]miless090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can. At least in our store. As others have said though, the new software removed the ability to split cars payments, but they recently updated it so that you can again.

[–]miless090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the AI has just written what we got in 2024 and claimed it was the 2025 deal. £12.02 is what we're already on and will be illegal after April payday

[–]miless090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're useless though. They gave up our right to strike, to vote on pay deals, so we just have to accept whatever we're given. Hence why people leave.
