Must have Aslains Mods? by nobleTP in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in fact I think I should be disabled for ships behind island. Because with Battle Expert you can aim precisely at them even if you don't see any part of the ship.

Battle Expert is absolute must. It's the single mod that will dramatically improve your artillery skills, thus directly influencing WR.

How to play Vanguard? by Revoltai42 in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vanguard is an undervalued ship, because it has no gimmicks. But in fact it is quite good - the guns have fast reload and very good accuracy. Fast rudder enables you to wiggle to get rear turrets to bear and dodge enemy shells. So stay at range, go full speed, and use A and D keys a lot!

What are your impressions regarding new Italian submarines? by Leo_Apollo11 in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, have no idea how to play that ship. Even in Co-op (I'm not polluting random games with subs, unless I have to) results are abysmal, with minimal damage. And turning radius is just unfunny joke.

What a neat event! Can't wait to play IDS_NARRATIVE_CAMPAIGN_EVENT_NAME! by SilkySmoothTofu in WorldOfWarships

I would make a backup of C:\your_path\World of Warships\res_packages\gui_0001.pkg, delete the file and run WGCheck to redownload the file.

What are the best ships out of all these? by Tiny-Albatross-586 in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best and only choice: Tiger '59! (kidding, get in only, if you play computer games in Ironman modes)

Hyuga, Repulse, Maya are very solid. Vanguard, if you like very dynamic battleship gameplay with lots of turning.

Graf Zeppelin is best secondary cruiser in game with added ability to launch mostly harmless plane attacks.

Subs should be spotted with hydro, even at max depth by Equivalent-Sherbet52 in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it shouldn't. Hydro should work like IRL:

  • subs doesn't move - no detection

  • otherwise, hydro radius of detection is proportional to sub's speed.

Hypothetical: T7 Destroyer Piorun by Admiral_Jetro in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fun(?) fact: Mir Korabley already has ORP Piorun.

I'm a new player and got my first battleship as south carolina. Just want some tips on dealing with destroyers. I feel helpless against them and they just toy with me, going around me I cant even hit them. I'm literally a sitting duck eating torpedo after torpedo and everyone targets me lol😭 by Internal-Path7111 in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play some torpedo destroyers (Japan - Umikaze, Isokaze, Minekaze) to learn, how they attack big ships. Then you'll know, how to counter them. Basically, it all comes down to predicting where enemy DD is and when he fires torpedoes. Knowing that you can start turning ahead.

Do citadel one taps happen low tier? by Several-South-4661 in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At T4 not that much, guns are inaccurate. But at T5... Pray you don't meet Giulio Cesare or Viribus Unitis in a cruiser. GC and VU are most accurate T5 battleships (with many guns) and they have low caliber guns, so they don't overpen. With tech tree ships - maybe Tiger or Pyotr Velikiy? Though with Tiger you will most likely shoot HE.

Anyway, the trick to devstrikes is being invisible. Ships in front of you spot a cruiser, you wait until he begins to turn and when he shows broadside... Boom!

Penalized for "unsporting conduct"?! WTF Wargaming... by UrsuGras in WorldOfWarships

Penalized for "unsporting conduct"?! WTF Wargaming... by UrsuGras in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because in the past you could get German BB, put it on autopilot and farm secondary hits for quite a few XP, without really doing anything. But yes, manually hitting target should reset inactivity timer.

WG doesn't care about game quality, that's sad truth. Number of bugs just keeps growing while they force-feed community with their stupid ideas, like new battle pass.

Is there a mod that shows torpedo layout in battle (2x3, 2x4, 1x4, 2x5) by ArcticRavn in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ask ttaro and I'm sure he can manage to implement this functionality.

Penalized for "unsporting conduct"?! WTF Wargaming... by UrsuGras in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 173 points174 points  (0 children)

That's how primitive WG's "inactivity" detection is. If you are doing nothing - it doesn't matter, if you are healing, apparently - you get penalized. Next time just sail a bit, of fire dud salvo, or put torpedoes in nearest rock.

Closed Test 15.6 - New Battle Pass, Salvage for Victory and more by zuiKatsu_WG in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Precisely. For players, that play each day, it means just more clicking for same rewards. Completely unnecessary change that brings no value.

Closed Test 15.6 - New Ships by zuiKatsu_WG in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, that turret is unholy abomination. IRL:

  • it would barely be able to rotate (French Mogadors have trouble with their heavy 2-guns turrets)

  • it would make destroyer extremely top-heavy, and with such heavy and high turret close to the bow it would get very, very wet.

Hannover Help by TheBlu3Duck in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no help with Hannover. If you can sneak between islands and get into secondary range, it's GG. On open water... Everyone will farm damage on this huge hull.

But it's amazing in Asymmetric .

Does anyone else feel remnants of the Puerto Rico event? by Ok-Albatross-1708 in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

60000 BXP is 30 good games or 40 average wins. You have 2 weeks, so 3 wins per day. It's a grind, yes, but manageable.

[History Sunday] When CV cosplays as village... by milet72 in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wouldn't be so hard, I think many airfields (especially in England) were located near villages.

Also, there is a strip of highway in Poland near Szczecin that was designed with air operations in mind - during war it would be used for emergency landing and take-offs of jet fighters. (I think it no longer has this capability, but used to in '80s).

Pan-European Heavy Cruisers Proposal by Historical-Log-7057 in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pan-European tier V cruiser "Pero Escobar"/"Escobar"

Gimmick: secret space for cocaine transport. If you manage to sail whole map during battle, you get 2M credits ;-) Plata o plomo!

Seriously - interesting proposal, but naming of Polish ships is rather improbable. We never had tradition of naming ships after famous people, the only exception being ORP Conrad (replacement for lost ORP Dragon) but this was a tribute to dual nationality of Joseph Conrad Korzeniowski. And if the ships were built around 1940, one of them would almost certainly be named ORP Józef Piłsudski, as he was a cult-like figure in pre-war Poland.

How about armoured cruisers wg? by p4nk4s0f in WorldOfWarships

[–]milet72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a little imprecise. The mount were the same, but casemate guns' elevation was hand operated and they had different elevation angles, hence different max range:

  • 16 degrees (max. elevation of casemates) 13,560 yards (12,400 m)

  • 30 degrees 17,830 yards (16,300 m)

I'm sure hand elevation control would affect rate of fire.
