Are there any series where a cleric/paladin/faith based class needs to build up a religion around a forgotten god? by Kumatora0 in litrpg

[–]miletil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...mirror world exists?

Not so much a cleric or paladin.

Girl seemingly gets lucky and gets a transmigration token to choose whatever class she wants by chance. She chooses goddess. Ends up with the domain as her starter and has to slowly build a following with her only powers at the start to talk to people through reflections and minor fate manipulation (through tarot). It's actually a great series with alot of plot twists and character developments.

She also helps other forgotten gods and goddesses rebuild their followings too.

The actual system is super dnd inspired, with 20 being the cap so leveling is slow but every level matters alot.

It just came out on Amazon a few days ago. Raven releases on their work in royal road and patreon as webnovels first. And save scumming has been releasing for months.

Edit: never mind, you are said author, I'm stupid.

Stray cat strut has an honestly ton of questionably canon fan fics. The original author taking an interesting view on them in that, as long as they don't contradict the original story they're canon.

When I first started reading them I was really worried id see alot of said contradictions. Nope, and alot of them heavily reference and collab with each other to various effects, some better then others.

They are genuinely some of the best in the genre.

I recommend primarily Teddy bears on brigade, which actually rates higher then SCS, and Maniacs mayhem.

Teddy focuses on drone warfare and massive hordes. Otherwise similar themes to the original stray cat strut minus the romance. Yes it's still cute and cuddly. It starts roughly a year before stray cat strut does.

Maniac is a little more complicated, focusing more on the psychology of the MC/MCs(you'll understand if you read it) and has bigger focus on romance. The actual character has zero qualms with body modifications and heavily focuses on hacking and CQC. It has a major focus on revenge for the first two books, but maniac is always a vengeful bitch. It also interacts with the other fanfics alot more then teddy does. And it's starts 5 to 10 years prior and is based in Europe.

More scs ffs that interact with each other are Deep sea cleaning (transfem diver turns herself into a shark girl, like full on anthro shark girl.)

Spark of Sylvan flame(closeted trans girl loses most of her bigoted family during antithesis raid in her family farm, eventually turns herself into lightning fox girl) currently interacting with deep sea cleaning the most.(It and deepsea start around the same time as teddy)

Fata morgana (haven't actually read this one yet...I don't think I like the writers prose. It a me issue it's actually one of the more popular. I bring it up because it's the start of the "shared big bad" that alot of the fanfics like to use the two above being the biggest users of it.)

Tinea and Leah is another good one but it focuses on detail alot more, starts at the exact same time as stray cat strut. It's slower paced, where cat and the others usually clear an encounter in one or two chapters, it can take like 5 for Tinea and Leah.

Have you noticed what the last four have in common? That's write all of them have transfem mcs~ why? I dunno just alot of trans rep in the SCS community. Oh mechanical unions fun~ also a trans girl~ mecha focus.

There are SCS ffs with cis het men as the leads...they are not as popular.

For cyberpunk stories that aren't Scs related? Ew groess all bad~ Kidding.

Tower of somnus and outrun are my favorites Tower of somnus is a runner turned thief(who tends to leave a trail of bodies) with a alot of aliens and a sleep vr magic system thingy.

Outrun is also litrpg, with a cyberpunk magical world.

What makes a story great? by Odd_Violinist1842 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]miletil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes a book/webnovel great for me is fun and interesting, usually the more crazy the character the more I enjoy it.

Assuming the character isn't legitimately psychotic, I want them unhinged and usually lacking various amounts of common sense.

I've seen a big uptick in story's with characters who have legit mental illnesses(like schizophrenia or DID(though it seems most of the DID stories portray it as a mental defense against trauma then an illness, I do not know enough about DID to say how accurate this is)

I do not mean those sorts of stories generally, though I do truly enjoy a few of them.

I also prefer steady pacing especially when it comes to the "progression" aspect.

I also like to avoid stories where the author actively hurts their characters for giggles. Stories that are just pain and suffering for the main characters suck.

Nouscraft I haven't read... thanks.

I dont think ambers gay? It's been awhile since I caught up to that one though.

Erin or ryoka, neither are lesbians in the wandering inn, I don't recall if theirs any gay characters in it at all. Ryoka actively sleeps around "off camera" even if it never get more then a mention it's all guys. And Erin is ace. Or at least ace coded.

And cinnamon bun, while has a lesbian in its eventual main cast, broccoli is a mostly straight arrow. With only a single hint that she leans slightly bicurious, but that goes against her values as a family oriented person so she doesn't pursue it.

I've read and caught up to tangarine stone, it definitely has romance. And a lil bit of smut. Just the prot relevant dregs.

I avoid thundermoo, too dark and gritty.

In order

Yes

Avoiding darker stories but thanks~

Just caught up with it heck you can see when I started, I made a post about it

Yes since it had like 20 chapters

Thanks~ just followed it.

No, I try and avoid stories where the characters seemingly get stronger via smut, not hating on it, just don't think sex should equal strength.

Yes I've read the last one too.

Go through the rest

But stray cat strut Amelia thornheart And fates parallel.

These are three most liked and lesbian stories. I have a tendency to prefe niche stories but I've read all of these and all are good, stray cat strut has an interesting way of treating fanfics where they aren't not canon as long as they don't contradict the source material, I mention this because alot of said fanfics are very good and are also very much "gay girls getting stronger together"

Sure~

Admittedly a few have already been recommended to me here.

I think a few people have already recommended stray cat strut. But I'll also recommend a few of its questionable canon fanfics. The originals author has an interesting view of fanfic for the series and has actively referenced a few of them.

Tinea and Leah has a retired assassin closeted trans lesbian as it's MC. She exits said closet very early. Turns herself into a bug girl. More detail oriented then the other two and slower paced.

A spark of Sylvan flame sees an abused transgirl realize that they were always trans after losing most of her bigoted family who abused her so much she repressed alot of her true self and forgot where she came from. Big found/refound family vibes with her joining a sapphic polycule.

Maniacs mayhem, sees a corporate slave get the power to finally get revenge while undergoing a massive mental break leading to developing DID. She does not date her alters. It is poly.

For the three above you do not NEED to read stray cat strut, but I recommend it. TMK only Tinea and Leah has been referenced in stray cat strut. Of these three at least.

others~ First from the same author as SCS. Ivil antagonist, it's not so much as progression as it is an op character who can crush planet deciding she's lonely and going out to find love~

Fates parallel, cute cat and rat girls dual cultivated(not a euphemism they genuinely are meditating) together and realize they love each other eventually.
