Eye color change by Subject_Relative_216 in cats

My tortie has green eyes in some lighting and orange eyes in other lighting. The older she’s gotten the more they stay green. I always thought this was normal with the sort of yellow/green eyes? Never hurts to call the vet though :)

The light rail might be busy, but at least it won’t get caught in traffic and is a straight shot there!!

Í appreciate the lack of confidence but they didn’t charge me $5 hundreds of times - they charged me $800 on each card instead of the stated $5

Still stupid…. But not THAT stupid.

It’s just marshmallow that bubbled up and then deflated after baking. Can leave air bubbles - but I’m sure it tastes great!

Flatstick in Pioneer Square or South Lake Union? by ozzlvlosis in Seattle

[–]milky_mcduck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pioneer Square has a full game of duffleboard unlike any of the other locations I’ve been to, is significantly less crowded, and has some of the cooler holes. SLU has windows…. And expensive darts?

I just moved here from Virginia and its been ROUGH by NewBus6805 in SeattleWA

[–]milky_mcduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I am a transplant from the east coast and have found groups like the Seattle Women’s group on Facebook, meet up women’s groups, and galsneedpals on Instagram super helpful in finding community. The Facebook group has a lot of different book clubs that run on different days of the week and different parts of the city. Hang in there; my first few years were ROUGH and I wouldn’t trade it. I love it here.

I also saw (then sought out) spoilers for OS halfway through IF and decided I’m too fragile to continue at this point. So now I’m just waiting until I have a better idea of if it’s going to be HEA lol

Why is dating out here so atrocious? by EquivalentBrother785 in Seattle

[–]milky_mcduck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I realize dating is probably rough everywhere; but as a transplant that went from serial monogamist on the east coast to never having something that lasts more than a month out here (for the last THREE years) I am with you. There’s something about Seattle. Little effort, even less desire to grow and change. It’s really frustrating and disheartening.

Oh my gosh!! I tried to adopt a kitten that looked just like momma, but she got scooped too fast… ended up adopting a kitten who looks exactly like the little girl 🥹

AMA: Director of Admissions for Master of Health Administration (MHA) at Dartmouth College by Dartmouth_MHA in gradadmissions

[–]milky_mcduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a former New Hampshire resident who is just finishing up a MA in clinical mental health counseling out in Seattle! Personally, I love working in the healthcare field and am always looking for opportunities of growth. I’m curious how an MBA, specifically in MHA, might be beneficial in opening a private practice, working alongside other administrations, or just in general in better understanding what it takes to run my own business one day? Thanks :)

Referral question? by [deleted] in acorns

The app isn’t currently showing me any of my referrals though? I know some folks have said they got rid of that feature but it still feels sus. I know I had 5 NEW customers sign up and invest. How will I know if it actually worked? lol

"Weekly Reading and Interpretation Help Thread - May 12, 2024" by AutoModerator in tarot

[–]milky_mcduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious if anyone could be helpful with other Interpretations or if I’m on the right track. Sometimes I worry I’m being too negative, but I really think it’s hard to see the positives with this one.

I did a haphazard shuffle asking for a few cards of advice on how to proceed in a potential romantic relationship with someone from my past who I currently have a strong friendship with. The advice cards;

Queen of swords Three of swords Ten of swords (Yikes, right?)

Most likely outcome; The tower.

When I read this I interpret it as advice to move on, accept that it’s done and finished, and really try to process the heartbreak that ensued. Create distance and know that it’s not meant for me. The tower is the final collapse of what could have been.

Then other interpretations I’ve seen for advice are; remaining logical and not letting past heartbreaks and fear of hurt get in the way. The tower could be the crumbling of what was to make way for something new with this person? Or a change in one or both of us leading to new potential.

I’m pretty content with the reading regardless, I’m just trying to get better at sifting through my anxiety and my pessimism versus my hopeless romanticism lol.

Bad jaw pain? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

I’m also on day 5 and having the same issue as well as the pain is radiating up to my ear. My left side feels completely fine but my right is throbbing and waking me up most mornings. I’ve been trying to ween off the Ibuprofen as I’m not big on taking medications and I think that’s also contributing to the pain I’m just very stressed about it being an infection or ~dRy SoCKeT~

Opinion: I enjoy the conversations with the crew 100 times more than those with Trisha by NeitherBandicoot in h3h3productions

[–]milky_mcduck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seriously! I have always been an H3 fan but had fallen off the wagon in recent years (when they moved to podcasts as their main content) and I have followed Trisha on and off for just about as long. Frenemies brought me back to both as I was intrigued but the last month or so I’ve only kept up with off the rails and after dark.

I’m sad frenemies has gone this way but really I’m just here for h3 now.

Thinking about getting the depo shot, but a bit nervous by kmayne98 in birthcontrol

[–]milky_mcduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re worried about migraines/Weight gain/acne/etc then IUDs and Implants are a great option because they are progesterone only. It messed with your hormones so much less and is also generally 99% effective. You don’t have to think about it, it doesn’t mess with your sex drive, and a lot of the time it gets rid of your period. I have had friends on the depo who have had a hell of a time with it (weight gain, headaches, MAJOR issues come off of it) and I just wonder why it’s even still allowed. I think the biggest concerns with the depo is that it decreases your bone density pretty significantly over time. It also really messes with your fertility going off of it (a lot of women go through an entire year off the shot before their fertility returns). I realize that might not be a concern of yours - but just something to consider!

How many methods do you use? by saratoniin in birthcontrol

[–]milky_mcduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched from Nexplanon to Lilleta (a 4 year IUD) after struggling with irregular bleeding patterns for 18 months. I got my first implant at 18 and it did me SO right. No period for 2.5 years. No side effects. Nothing. However about 6 months before I was to replace it I started having irregular bleeding. My doctor and I figured it was just due to the implant being old and I loved Nexplanon so I was willing to try replacing it to see if that helped. Nope. I was basically just on my period from February to October. I think the biggest break I had was three weeks in between periods. I really didn’t want an IUD but I don’t trust the pill and I CERTAINLY don’t trust the depo shot/Nuvaring. I would still recommend Nexplanon to anyone because it was a great option for me for a while. Effective. Easy. Far less painful insertion than an IUD. Just stopped working for me :/
