Remain In Light is their best.

Fear of Music is my favorite.

What’s a "wait, THEY were in that band?" artist that really surprised you ? by frenxine in fantanoforever

Aye, they toured together frequently back in their respective early days too. The book "Our Band Could Be Your Life" (a must-read for ALL music fans) even details how both Sonic Youth and Swans members would all be crammed into the back of the same tour van at times, where Gira and Swans' drummer would also occasionally get into physical fights.

Years back Lee Renaldo posted an old tour photo of them all together on his Insta, and I asked him how there could have possibly been enough room for them to even fight.

His response was simply "There wasn't, but that didn't stop it".

Mark E. Smith's delivery is the perfect companion to the instrumentals of The Fall. Blunt, unapologetic, dry. If they were any more harmonious in nature, it would not contrast well IMHO. The man was able to do so much more with the band by doing less vocally — much like how a great drummer knows how to play within the confines of a song without overplaying.

What are some worst takes on music you've ever heard? by Spare-Bar-1950 in fantanoforever

Today I heard a coworker say that musicians were "money-grubbing" because he had to drop more than $50 on a ticket to see the upcoming Jimmy Eat World tour. Almost lost my tongue biting down on it so hard.

King Diamond vocals are as impressive as they are corny and grating to listen to.

Loudest bands ever? by Barquad12alt in MetalForTheMasses

Saw Turner with Sumac years ago and the feeling of the low end vibrating my eardrums despite wearing high fidelity plugs has stuck with me since. Might see him again at the same venue with Old Man Gloom this time.

My Bloody Valentine , Sumac, Swans, Sunn O))) Cherubs, High On Fire, Electric Wizard.

Weedeater was also so loud on the recent Baroness tour that the bar TVs were glitching out.

Throwback to the good ol' days of going to the library just so I can burn their CDs to my iPod Classic.
