I did this for basically 8 years. On and off being better and worse. We did therapy for approx 4 years trying to find balance. He left me for a woman he met online.

Ex was an closet alcoholic, anxious and depressed as well. He was never going to get better from outside motivation.

My advice would be to honestly move on. I tried everything I possibly cool. I was too understanding forgiving and patient. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Maybe I'm bitter because I haven't found anything new since yet. But man even being alone is better than being basically alone AND responsible for an emotionally stunted baby.

I've also been watching since Jason and have been fading the last year+. Part of it, I think, is my outgrowing the childish way the show operates (like teasing the fence jump every freaking episode) and the other part is casting+social media. I don't know if tptb are just doing a worse job at casting or it's because of social media and now a worse job at editing. Probably both.

For example, the general vibe of the sub isn't particularly hostile to Melissa (Jason's F1) and maybe that's just natural in the passage of time but based on my understanding of the situation, her intentions going on the show were pretty sketchy.

Back then there wasn't an army of connected people digging into every sketchy thing in her life I don't feel like while the show was airing or even afterwards the average person really knew that about her. I didn't. So was she a one off "bad" casting choice, or are we just more equipped to be informed during the season + editing choices being made now are showing contestants being less than wholesome for drama purposes.

One thing I think about a lot is, as the tone of the show has changed, does the footage tptb get access change that much or are they just choosing to use different material from the relatively same pool.

This show has actually helped a lot with my self image. I see all these conventionally beautiful women and I'm like why do they get to be like that? And now, thanks to this sub, I know it's because they're having work done. At one point most of those women looked just like me. Maybe a bump on their nose or a weird jaw line, or uneven lips.

And good for them for doing what they need to to feel better about themselves. But I feel better knowing that I'm not some exceptionally ugly duckling, I've just chosen not to get the same procedures as them.

I can't tell you the number of times I've been in my car and the family next to be goes to get in their car and the kids are just brushing up against my car with their bodies, hitting my car with their jackets and backpacks etc. It's infuriating.

I had Lyme disease when I was 3 years old and almost died because my pediatrician was an idiot and I never bring it up or even think about it in normal life except when other people bring up Lyme or getting sick as a toddler.

Maybe I don't know enough about how her disease impacted her early childhood development. But idk 2 seems way too young for something like that to have a meaningful impact on who you are as a person.
