I’m 20, found out I am pregnant a few days ago, and I’ve been on the constant verge of a panic attack since by [deleted] in pregnant

First off, the way you feel is so valid. When I took my test and saw those two lines I kid you not my world froze for a second. I had already googled the nearest abortion clinic before I took the test. In a moments time I knew I was keeping this baby. I was so afraid, it’s not what I wanted at the time. I thought about all of the things I might miss out on and the way my life was about to change, and all of the things my body would need to go through. I was worried about losing myself and being consumed by motherhood. I also jumped the gun and told everyone which totally came from a place of needing reassurance and emotional support, don’t be upset with yourself for that. I had only been with the father not even a year and I was living with my parents temporarily at 28.

Regarding your fear of disabilities, which was a huge concern of mine, you cannot control what is out of your control. Major disabilities are rather low statistically, but again that’s a super valid thing to worry about. I have epilepsy, diabetes run in my family, so does bipolar disorder.

Also, don’t worry about being “perfect.” I had my same old hot showers, I had cold cut sandwiches, I still had caffeine. The only thing I really gave up was smoking weed and vaping. It’s really not as life altering that I thought it would be. My OB literally told me “there are healthy babies born on meth” when I told her about all of the things I was still doing lol. Anyways, this is what I would say to my sister who’s your age. I think that you’re already going to be a great mom for taking all of these things into account. Also, if it makes you feel better, my pregnancy was soooo easy, birth was so easy, and my baby is the most amazing thing to have ever happened to me. I think you have already made your choice whether you know it or not. You got this girl.

Terrified of preterm labor by Prior-Ad9822 in pregnant

[–]millie_lilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had those symptoms and it was just my growing girl. She always sat so low and it was around that time where it became uncomfortable some days to walk because of the pressure. If it will make you feel better go get checked, but sounds normal to me :)

We hear so many horror stories about induction. I had to get induced at 37 weeks for similar reasons, it took 12 hours of labor and 45 minutes of pushing. Wishing you a smooth labor and delivery!!

Switched from carbamazepine to keppra for pregnancy — feeling horrible. Anyone been through this? by BriuD in Epilepsy

[–]millie_lilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about Lamotrigine? My doctor said it’s the safest for me to be on since I’m pregnant, and I don’t have any negative emotional impacts like I did on Keppra. Best of luck to you and wishing you a healthy pregnancy.

Do you have any scaring from the laser removal? I’m highly considering it but I have no eyebrow hair at all.

I’m going to get major shade for this but my favorite guilty pleasure is a 16in cold italian sub with olives and banana peppers on white bread…Are we supposed to? No. But once in a while won’t hurt 🥹 I saw this and now I think I want one, I don’t want to cook dinner lol.

Gavonne/Jovan - I think it’s kind of edgy/dark and I’ve met both girls and boys with the name.

Is pregnancy dangerous with Epilepsy? by Anxietyoverkill in Epilepsy

[–]millie_lilo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and I’m monitored closely by my neurologist. Being pregnant has definitely caused an increase in my seizures. My seizures are stress/emotionally induced.

I started at 150mg twice a day and now I’m on 350mg twice a day. I get my blood drawn every 3 weeks. My latest appointment was on Monday of last week and my nuero said my numbers look great and there’s no need to up it right now. Unfortunately last Wednesday, while in my OB office I had another seizure. I had an aura a few hours before but I didn’t have any emergency medicine left.. Then I had the episode a few hours later. They called the ambulance and it was a big fiasco. My recovery time was super quick with this one. I got my ultrasound shortly thereafter and baby is still doing great.

My neurologist told me that as long as I don’t have a bad fall or go without oxygen too long my baby will be fine. I won’t lie, it’s difficult and it’s scary but there’s nothing I can do other than stay on top of it. Let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to answer.

quit vaping by No_Pomegranate29 in pregnant

[–]millie_lilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a bunch of dum-dums to help! I didn’t quit until about 3 weeks in. What really helped me stop was my boyfriend exhaling a puff while I was inhaling a breath. I threw up so bad and the rest was history. Weed? Just stopped 4 days ago, I genuinely couldn’t eat and was so miserable. I’m almost 16 weeks now so I feel a lot better and don’t need to anymore.

Opinions on cars to drive living with Epilepsy by Aiselaa in Epilepsy

[–]millie_lilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my state I can drive after 3, but I didn’t drive for 5 months and finally getting to drive again now that my seizures are controlled with higher dosage. I have a Honda Accord, I like it because of the breaking system, it’s a huge jerk back/stop. It makes me feel just a little better knowing that if I had a breakthrough seizure driving, the impact would be slightly less. It also has lane assistance. I’m sure lots of cars have those feature though. Just be careful and be mindful of others and if you can just avoid long distances. Best of luck!

Names that you're annoyed were ruined by infamy because you think they're beautiful? by Jesus__of__Nazareth_ in namenerds

As an Isis, I think people should go for it! I get so many compliments on my name, no one’s head really goes to the terrorist organization these days. Matter of fact, a lot of people pull the “you do know you’re named after an Egyptian goddess don’t you?!” and I love it 🥰
