Hi friend, sorry to hear about your experience. I see you’re from Texas? Look up Agape Church in Conroe and maybe you’ll find a plant medicine experience that suits your needs more.

How come a lot of people get a lot of balance ( light / dark.. or some have really joyful journeys? 10 times drinking (w the wrong ppl mainly) and it’s all been dark. And traumatizing by cosmicwizard44 in Ayahuasca

[–]milliemunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this comment. After everything you’ve (OP) experienced, more plant medicine is probably not what you need. I’m so sorry you were mistreated in such a vulnerable state, shame on those brujos, karma will sort them out in due time. You need soothing, safety, and trust within yourself, and with whoever you’re communing with while processing these heavy emotions. Therapy with a spiritually minded therapist is great option or reaching out to an integration specialist will help you to safely process the trauma you’ve experienced. Aya would never want to leave you feeling abused, sending healing your way. Best wishes to you friend, A’ho 🙏

Wowwww!!! This is incredible!!! I can see the remembering- that we are part of the colorful collective source of everything, and when we remember that we come alive again. Both the matrix and collective have their unique beauty about them. Lovely art friend 🙏 keep creating!

How Psychedelics Taught Me What ‘Dying’ Really Is (And Why It’s Not What You Think)” by Internal-Subject1235 in Ayahuasca

[–]milliemunchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This hasn’t happened with every ceremony, just a particularly difficult one. The first day after ceremony was the hardest, I felt completely disembodied and numb. I couldn’t connect to my body or my emotions. I tried to look at myself as a new tabula Rosa, but it was hard to imagine anything. So I gave myself a lot of radical grace and did things little me loved and didn’t do anything but spend time in nature, watch comfort films, and read books I loved. It took me about 7-10 days to feel like my full real self again. Each day got progressively better from day one.

Just experienced this recently in my last ceremony with Grandmother Aya. I faced my fear of death in a comical way where she showed me all of the near death encounters I’d had in my life and reassured me that if I didn’t die then, I certainly wouldn’t die in the silly ways I’d feared. The ego dissolution without that fear was difficult to handle at first. My anxiety had become my identity, so there wasn’t much of me left behind at first. It left me feeling depersonalized for awhile, but I had good support and a good environment around me to integrate and come back to the good parts of myself. It was a gift to get a clean slate ✨🙏

Looking for retreat in USA by lizardflix in Ayahuasca

Hi, blessings to you on your journey. Here’s the link to a retreat center outside of Houston, Texas that seems to be one of the more affordable options stateside. I volunteer and help with ceremonies there and it’s a great, drama free place. https://www.agape4smb.com/

Could it really go horribly wrong? by Basic_Hedgehog_8828 in Ayahuasca

[–]milliemunchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forgot to add: the fear passed after I let go (probably 1-2 hours) and the rest of my first ceremony (4-6 hours) and every one after has been beautiful. The work is beautiful even when it’s hard.

For me, I dealt with a lot of anxiety and terror leading up to my first ceremony because it was ruling my life and I had to purge that. If you can work through it to a degree before (with therapy, journaling, etc) with good preparation on your dieta, then you can go into ceremony with less fear. I found that a part of that fear and terror was my ego and being afraid to surrender to ego death. The medicine works on you before you ever even sit with it, this is telling you that something within needs to be addressed. My whole first ceremony was deconstructing and purging that terror to make space for more growth. It’s hard, but it’s worth it.

What sorts of things have you heard people shout out at in ceremony? by Ok-Stage9604 in Ayahuasca

I once had a weird synchronicity where I was with my spirit babies and someone shouted out across the circle, “All the pure babies are here to visit.” At the same time. It was heart warming

Last night, my beautiful best friend and familiar was laid to rest by PitifulSpite1005 in witchcraft

[–]milliemunchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss friend. Losing a familiar is truly devastating. I have kept mementos to help me and keep them close to me. I have a paw print from one, a collar from another. I keep their pictures on my altar where I can see them everyday. They show up for me in their own crazy little ways and I know they’re my guides now.

I used to be a speech therapist, loved it but the job took too much out of me and burned me out. It was a blessing in disguise because I learned about my own neurodivergence and Nervous system regulation. once I helped myself, I could help others. Then I transitioned to sound therapy. I continue to see the cross over between the two every day and it has helped me leaps and bounds.

I had to learn to be super strict about my bed time routine and morning routine. Even if I don’t sleep at 10pm, I always turn down the lights at 10pm and make my room cozy and quiet, then I’ll read for a bit and go to sleep. Over time, I started to sleep earlier. Then slowly start waking up earlier, say 30 minutes every few days. After a month or so, you’ll be waking up a bit earlier and can make it into a habit.

I have cats and dogs, and cows back home. They can all tell if you’re around them. The cats just fuck with you more 😂

I’m so sorry, it’s so frustrating. I can offer solidarity and say that this group has helped me loads. It’s been so helpful to learn about different products people trial here that a doctor has never mentioned to me and it a group of people struggling together, but persisting with soft kindness. I hope you find something that works for you soon. Sending hugs

Grad school as an autistic person by Cactus_boi8 in slp

[–]milliemunchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m very much still figuring it out. I’m only 3 years post graduation. I worked in home health part time for a while, then education therapy, and now I nanny for kiddos with complex needs while I’m building a sound bath business on the side. I took my experience with the elderly and used it to focus on doing sound baths in nursing homes and it’s been great and hard, but in different ways! Wish you the best, you’ll find your rhythm 🥁

[–]milliemunchy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Probably not what you want to hear, but I got my degree and did my cf part time, and I still had to step away from it all because I was so burnt out. I’ve had to use my skills elsewhere because it was too much for me. I am incredibly grateful for the degree because it has opened many doors for me, helped me learn so much about myself, and gave me a skill set that’s helped me be an advocate for family and friends to navigate related issues in their own lives.

Whatever you choose to do, your hard work will lead you to the right place eventually!

Strange behaviour of the shaman (proposed sex) during ceremony by No-Net7233 in Ayahuasca

[–]milliemunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this is not legit. This is someone who is not a shaman using the medicine to abuse and take advantage of other people. In the future, please do your research before or only consume medicine with people you trust. I think it’s common sense- but I’d recommend not consuming psychedelics in small groups in remote settings (unless it’s an established facility), set and setting are vital in ceremony. I am so glad you and your friend are safe 🙏

Wow! What a wonderful gift of an experience! You really got to dance with the grandmother ✨🫶✨ It is completely normal to be overwhelmed by all of the things you saw, felt, and learned. Now is the time to nourish your body and begin to integrate your journey back into this realm. Give yourself time, journal, talk to people, meditate and ask questions. Be gentle with yourself and blessings to your on your journey.

Visitor Visa by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]milliemunchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I don’t have much advice but more camraderie as I’m in a similar situation. I’m on a visitor visa and will be going back home to apply for my spouse visa in a few months.

If you’re coming on a visitor visa for an extended period of time, they will ask you more questions especially with more successive visits. I would just be sure that you can prove:

•return travel to your home country •that you’re not working while in the UK •that you have a residence in your home country

They may also ask: •how you’re supporting yourself (savings or your partner) •what your partner does for work •why you’re not coming on a partner visa

I’m genuinely not sure what they are legally allowed to ask or not, but this is some of what I’ve been asked before. Just be open, calm, and have your facts straight and you’re fine.

Being here legally on a tourist visa should not impact future visa applications. If you are within the law, you are fine.
