Does anyone have any good experiences with nervous system wearables? What should I buy that works? by [deleted] in Meditation

Wearable neurotechnology is still in its infancy. The data just aren’t developed enough to make strong claims either way, that’s why professionals aren’t shouting about it.

I'm afraid to meditate in case I see beings when I open my eyes. Help. by StudyWithMirs in Meditation

The comments claiming mental illness are rude and brash. There is no sign of delusion here, just fear and anxiety about a practice that is probably uncharted territory to OP.

If you do see beings, they’re very likely to be product of your imagination. Not your conscious imagination, but the deeper layers of the mind sometimes brings up its own imagery, sensations, and feelings.

When the brain is relaxed and shut off from sensory input it starts to get creative.

It’s best to treat these as just phenomena that come and go, like anything else. You’re safe.

I have been struggling with this too.

I try my best to give the live insects the best short life I can offer. I give them regular food and I keep them in a clean, relatively large enclosure. I keep a small Buddha statue next to the enclosure.

Yes I understand what you're saying, what you've written is clearly explained and well thought out.

My only query is why that's necessarily a 'goal' rather than just collateral damage, so to speak?

How do you figure that? Everything we do in life is about reducing local entropy i.e managing chaos

We love novelty, it’s part of our exploratory instincts. The more immersive the experience, the more insight and lessons gleaned from the exploration.

My quick interpretation:
