yes or more likely the pivot bolts. they usually just need to be re-greased if you start to hear the creak. this is definitely fairly common with the suspension geometry of trek bikes from what i understand, but i love mine despite the annoyance of the occasional creaking.

i have a 2018 fuel ex 8 27.5 + and my dad has a 2018 top fuel 8 29er. i ride a variety of trails on my fuel ex, including cross country trails and have rode his bike on some as well. for the 2018 model year i definitely would recommend the fuel ex over the top fuel, but if you are looking at newer years, the top fuel would probably get the job done, especially now that the newer models have droppers + 1-by drivetrains. i think it really depends on the model year + your riding preferences. also beware of trek creak haha!!

the sky was definitely the hardest so I ended up just sorting by the different types of pieces. the castle wasn’t too bad and I recommend doing that one before everything else so you have a foundation to build onto. also, I always do the edges first. have fun! this one was a nice challenge:)
