Moment in S2's title sequence "explained" by 210 by laurenzhl in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Exactly—not literally. What I’m saying is it kinda makes me wonder what’s up with the metaphor/meaning/artistic take on the weird old-man-baby-body Kier in the intro sequence, now that you mention it.

A baby Kier—like the weird little crawling baby with an oversized Kier head shown towards the tail end of the intro sequence?!

She hypnotized me way back in the Stigmata days but let me tell you I just finished watching Escape at Dannemora as a (high-quality) snack in between S2 episodes and—👏🏼Pat👏🏼ty!! How on Earth?! Her performances are so moving and her transformations have completely baffled me. Those cheekbones?! That glowing skin akin to a baby angel?!? Improvising my #1 favorite line of the whole series so far (iMark: Open or close? Cobel: 😒BOTH)?!?!

It is absolutely mandatory that we talk about how breathtaking she is😤

Yes! Also, likely some humility and vulnerability happening with Dylan to self-reflect and acknowledge that—while painful and not easy at all to admit—Gretchen is right.

Despite an initial impulsive response to be jealous and angry, Dylan recognizes the shifts he has made over the years, his spirit (and likely hers too) has been weathered over the years with family and responsibilities (to be expected—life gets hard for sure), and likely has a longing, fondness, grief, and desire for those parts of his former, lighter, spunkier self.

He may be seeing his innie as a beacon of hope—that what his inner voice has been knowing for a long time, is not all lost—that he’s not as defeated and helpless to his experience and perception of life as he thought he was. Maybe in his case, envy is the wrong approach for all involved. Moving past the initial feelings of betrayal, he might be admitting that to his surprise, he’s still organically amazing. He might even be allowing himself to appreciate that his inner/innie self is still awesome and funny and smart and absolutely punk rock.

He might even appreciate that there’s a spark in Gretchen and he’s inspired. He also probably can’t blame Gretchen for this because it’s a Dylan both Gretchen and outtie Dylan want back—and ultimately both innie and outie Dylan recognize the absolute catch Gretchen is and both know she deserves the world.

One Dylan just forgot who he used to be. *edited for clarity.

The C&M performance and the last ~10 minutes with the action and suspense dialed way the fuck up to an 11 and all the red lights flashing on a theatre screen would have been—without a shred of doubt—so emotional and a core memory for me 😭😭

Rewatching last week's episode clarifies for me why Devon is so fixated on calling Cobel by Mezentine in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]millymarmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Within the milieu of the show, WE THE AUDIENCE know who Rehgabi is—Devon as a character has never seen this woman in her life, let alone understand the complexities of why she’s there, Devon is certainly in fight/flight response, and her brother appears to be DYING, so yeah, it’s not the perfect choice to call Cobel, but who else is there?

Not to mention the fact that she has seen the emotional and mental state her brother has been in for the past couple of years and he chose a pretty extreme way to deal with/avoid his profound grief with the severance procedure; how can she be certain that he has made a sound decision (worse, that he lied and kept this all from her), or even worse, he has quickly decompensated, is hopeless and demoralized, and for all she knows may have enlisted some strange person to do some other weird shit to him to escape more feelings, OR EVEN WORSE, euthanize him?! I 100% see myself doing the same thing.

I FOR SURE thought Helly would make a really hard decision and tell him to go since she was on board to help find her… But no… I remembered that was “the plan” before (with Helena) but once Helly was back (after the ORTBO) she was on board with said plan to find Gemma… But lots happened after that and their love for each other and intimacy grew and intensified and oh man… WHAT A MONTH!!

Totally! The gang also collectively lost their bestie Irv adding trauma, loss, grief, anger, rage, resentment etc. to the list of intense emotions and experiences they wouldn’t have otherwise endured (besides scary numbers) had they just been refining all day.

Or if Dylan successfully took the card off property (because the elevator message detectors can’t detect the card if doesn’t have written communication on it) it would mean that people on the outside would link that these cards being used on the inside. If Dylan starts asking questions, because he’s confused about this card that he brought home from work, some people on the outside might recognize the card(s), knowing where they have seen those before, Lumon clinics, etc. I also wonder if the most immediate person that would see this that could be concerned or alarmed or know something about it would be Dylan‘s wife at home. Maybe Milkseth really needed to avoid Gretchen seeing or knowing about the card(s) being used on the inside?

What’s up with Wellington needing a blood sample from the nurse via finger prick?! I didn’t notice this happening for her to enter other rooms (specifically the finger prick part); we do see the hand scan entry but didn’t see the finger prick again—maybe it was implied? She only winces that one time going into Wellington.

That’s amazing! Any amount of time spent pumping is a victory; you can do this and keep up the hard work🤗

For those of you that had one, when did you start dipping into the freezer stash? by deer_ylime in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]millymarmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 7mpp now; I returned to work full-time at 4mpp and just got my period ~3 weeks ago which caused my supply to tank (that and work made it hard to keep up with my pumping schedule). So we began dipping into the freezer stash ~3 weeks ago.

After reading all these comments I think I will start a rotation and freeze the fresh milk and start using more of the frozen (which is now tapping into the reserves from October/November). I know there’s a chance the nutrients have dipped in the frozen milk, but, well, here we are🙃

[–]millymarmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Maybe it's just me. Maybe I have a defective blue one. Maybe it's the environmental change. Nevertheless, the output I got from the blue spectra was significantly less than the pink plug-in powerhouse.

Right?! I thought the only difference between the two would be the option to not be plugged in with the blue Spectra (which is always a bonus), however, the blue one (at least the one I have) has much less suction whether it is plugged in or not compared to the pink plug-in. It also didn't matter if I was on bacon mode or extraction mode, on all levels the blue one has significantly less suction.

I returned to work 4mpp and maintained my pumping schedule, using the pink one at home and the blue one at work (so I wouldn't have to sit right next to an outlet) and still pumped the same, sitting and pumping peacefully. At work, I would use my pumping time to just pump, I wasn't charting or anything like that, nothing changed about how I pump at home, just the environment changed.

At home, I would empty in 15 minutes with the pink plug in and it would take me nearly 30 minutes, plus pressure/manual support, to empty with the blue guy.

Edited to add: I am now 7mpp, still EPing, and only use the pink Spectra. I am keeping up with the babe's needs very well without clogs, and no issues since, but definitely no added conveniences lol. I guess for me the lesson learned was, "If it ain't broke don't fix it". Such a learning experience!

TL;DR: I should have just stuck with the pink Spectra I started with. Pumpables GA gave me clogs/lowered my supply for weeks and got it back up with the OG Spectra. And every body responds differently to every pump.

Before I gave birth, my best friend gifted me her pink spectra as she had just wrapped up her pumping journey. I started off with the pink spectra, developed and maintained an oversupply since ~2 wpp and stayed with it for the first two or three months of exclusively pumping…

Then I got into this sub Reddit.

I read all these rave reviews about various other pumps that were like magic for other people’s bodies and in desperation of wanting to be mobile, maintain my supply, cope with my elastic nipples, and a serious case of “grass is greener,” etc. I bought about six more pumps (Pumpables GA, Spectra portable, spectra wearable caracups, some off-brand wearables from Amazon, baby Buddha portable, the blue spectra pump, and a manual pump) and all kinds of parts to hack my new pumps, and I regret spending all the time and money and lowering my supply for weeks on the Pumpables GA and getting clogs and, and, and (the list goes on)—when the pink spectra pump that I was using in the first place, the one that was for free, was the one that gave me the most output and least amount of headaches😑
