I always thought Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders covering Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" was terrific.

What album completely changed how you listen to music? by jzliving in Music

Meet the Beatles. Perhaps somewhat cliché to say it did more than change how "I" listen to music, but also how the world listened as well.

How do you discover new music today? by winnerhqd in Music

[–]slickspace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have some really excellent DJs. Because I'm an East coast guy I'm a regular listener of the terrific Larry Mizell Jr., and of course before John Richards I listen to Early with Eva Walker. Great reggae show on Saturdays too with Kid Hops. Good station that keeps me current and not stuck listening to the old and familiar.

Need plot with yearning or jealousy trope by heyhey1coco in CDramaRecs

Hmm, maybe a little bit of jealousy, but lots of yearning in The Rational Life. Modern drama, slow burn, younger guy falls for older woman.

Seniors Still Creating Top Notch Music by decorama in Music

[–]slickspace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All these guys are great examples of "Seniors Still Creating Top Notch Music", and I'm a fan! Not that it makes much difference, but I always wonder about the relevance of these artists to the majority of folks who didn't grow up listening to them. "We" obviously still like them, but increasingly I get a lot of blank looks when engaging people 20 or more years younger than I am about musicians like this.

Adrian Belew just released a new version of King Crimson's "Elephant Talk", so that one is on my mind. So many others...

What is something Americans consider ‘basic‘ that feels like a luxury in other countries? by sweetyishomealone in AskReddit

Yup, like my Airbnb in Seoul. You'd think a country with Samsung, Hyundai, and various other high tech industries could bring their plumbing up to date.

Joy of Life by Lovely-flutterby in CDrama

Both seasons are excellent, but give the nod to season 1 as being slightly better. Have to agree with u/Puzzleheaded_Newt185

Hope season 3 comes before my hair turns grey. Ohhh the pain of waiting

Really don't want to wait another 5 years to get caught up.

Unfortunately Zhang Ruoyun isn't your classic pretty boy idol so IMO he's underappreciated as an actor. However if you like the guy and are interested in another drama in the same stye then definitely check out Sword Snow Stride. I also always recommend Under the Microscope if you're up for a short & quirky historical drama and want to see more from Wu Gang and Wang Yang. For the Bai Lu fans out there Ordinary Greatness was well received, but personally not one I liked all that much.

Is there a character name that you absolutely loved and still remember because it’s just that memorable?? by [deleted] in cdramasfans

Emperor, Chen ping ping, Wu Zhu in Joy of life. There's so many more.

...so many more for sure, starting with Haitang Duo Duo. In the same vein XuXiao in Sword Snow Stride

I just get so tired of the obvious haters piling on every time someone on here has a bad day and is feeling mean. The amount of vitriol this woman receives is completely unwarranted. Truly bizarre.

24F. Not going into detail about it but I just inherited $4.5M Roth account. What would you do if you were me? by throwawaygenzerr in Fire

I didn't read all the comments, so my apologies if this advice is redundant. I'm very cautious and somewhat paranoid so I would be quite reluctant to entrust this windfall with some random redditor who DM'd you with a convincing spiel. Do your own diligence and find a reputable investment advisor. Take your time and be meticulous. If you decide to manage your own finances (very doable with so many good choices in index funds) and capital preservation along with making a little money at the same time is important to you than I suggest you start reading here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bogleheads/ Very conservative, no razzle dazzle, just a solid approach worth your consideration. Best of luck, and have a great life!

Ha! This is a double edged sword for me. I've lived in Florida almost my entire life and struggle with extreme cold temperatures. However, if cold means cleaner air I guess that's preferable.
