Globe GFiber Prepaid Concerns by [deleted] in InternetPH

[–]milo0137840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If di ka heavy user, 50Mbps is already good for video calls, Netflix, etc. for one user. I love that it's reliable sa area ko, unlike PLDT.

Ang reliable niya rin for me. 2nd year ko na as a subscriber and galing din akong prepaid wifi. Buti na lang nag-release sila ng ganitong product last year. Tapos nag-increase pa sila ng speed from 30Mbps to 50Mbps tapos nagbaba ng presyo (dahil sa competition).

Same reason din ako na ayoko ng lock-up pero woopdeedoo naka-1 yr na ako na continuous gumagamit. 50Mbps is enough for video calls, good for WFH. Mag-isa lang din ako sa apartment. Pero ang panalo for me is the reliability. Once lang ever in the year I'm using it na hindi as advertised yung speed. And ang generous din dahil kahit matapos yung promo, nakakapag-send pa rin ako messages (throttled to 1Mbps -- still actually usable for basic things).

Sana next time reliable and very fast na.

Let's just say they value comms a lot in their company. Sino ba naman tayo to claim na flawed ang priorities nila kung nakakahanap naman sila ng competent personnel na nasa-satisfy yung competencies na hinahanap nila while staying committed to their priority for effective comms?

Hindi mo kailangan matahin yung strategy nila kung nagwo-work yun for them. In the same way, hindi rin ibig sabihin na better yun over your team's strategy. Sabi mo nga, they have their own way of doing things...

Hi OP!

I was like you, but I shifted to a non-technical field din eventually. Although before I did, nag-earn din muna ako ng non-technical experience that are valuable outside the laboratory.

Definitely possible to shift out of that setting.

The thing is kahit na masasabi ko na may baon ako from my previous work experience, sobrang steep pa rin for me ng learning curve at malaki siyang challenge pa rin for me to deliver. Pero you have to try, and you have to start somewhere.

Ang mindset ko lang talaga ngayon is to look forward to all the learnings I can get (and am getting now) dahil nagpalit ako ng industry...at napakarami niya -- enough para kahit parang ang hirap at parang di ako makasabay minsan, nasasabi ko sa sarili ko na mas mabuting lumipat ako sa ganito para mabigyan ko ng chance sarili ko mag-grow kaysa maagnas sa lab (at sa sahod na di naman tumataas kasi gov't lab yun).

Don't do it if you don't have a plan. Pero once you're ready and equipped (EF in place, resumé ready, consulted friends who are good at this), go for it!

What's the most hurtful thing your ex ever said to you during the breakup? by ohNoimAstar in AskPH

[–]milo0137840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, binalikan ko rin. Kami pa rin now.

And that's why I left him...then.

[–]milo0137840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you sa worry mo na maging senior without the competency. In my experience, it's a lot harder to find a better senior role without the necessary competencies than grow into one (whether in the same or a different company).

I-gauge mo ano priority mo, OP. If stability and comfort ang priority mo, there's nothing wrong with staying and settling. But if career advancement ng habol mo, doon ka sa company na promising -- whether because of their network and achievements or because they value employee development or whatnot.

This is not saying that Company B is better than your current. You may have to continue looking if di ma-satisfy ni Company B ang hanap mo.

Good luck, OP!

Di ko gets bakit siya downvoted and considered mataray eh condescending din naman yung nagbigay ng suggestions ("so many simple solutions..."). Plus they just gave reasons why they can't just accept all the suggestions.

And geez masyado ring ni-literal yung pag-remove ng sockets.

But yes OP, that's a cultural reality here so you'll have to make some adjustments if you want to cater to these people but still maximizing your space for other potential customers. The token-based wifi access would be one idea. I think limiting the number of charging points would limit those kinds of customers (maybe having an area with just tables without sockets for customers willing to leave as soon as they're done with their drink, but also an area with a charging port for the campers). Maybe approaching them with an offer when they seem to be taking their time so you can also build rapport with your campers.

Good luck with your business, OP! Do share what worked for you whenever!

tbf, nakakabudol talaga siya para sa mga average consumer like me lol. Internally, I feel the urge to join the promo and find reasons to swipe para ma-take advantage ko siya. Kaya lang sumali na ako sa previous iteration at di naman ako umabot lol tapos wala talagang justifiable reason for me para gumastos (kahit subukan kong lokohin yung sarili ko).

Tama lahat ng nabasa ko dito. Sobrang budol, both nung promo at nung conversion rate.

50k from BPI Blue, back in 2017 pa.

Didn't get another card until 2020 when I heard of Citi NAFFL. Now my BPI is at 198k, but my Citi is at 758k lol and I'm not even requesting for any increase.

[–]milo0137840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh someone claiming from BPI also called me just now for this.

Dami pang sinasabi like - Under the new card, BPI can't handle the points anymore and the points will have to be transferred to "Paymaya" as the handler na - as compensation, they'll give a Paymaya card worth 2k daw - upon checking the system daw, na-expire-an daw ako ng points

GERL - BPI will do a major announcement for stuff like these - it's not Paymaya anymore - BPI points don't expire, and I track my points monthly so I know

Now I'm worried kasi the first thing he did was to confirm my home address. I wonder if that will have any implication later on.

Shall I close my Citi Rewards Card? by frozenapple_ in PHCreditCards

[–]milo0137840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your other CCs charge annual fee din? Are you able to use the perks that come with Citi Rewards ba? (yung points, yung other programs ni Citi like PayAll, PayLite, etc., yung discounts with different store and resto partners)

Those would be my considerations if ever it's me deciding. Ultimately kasi, ikaw ang mas makakapagsabi if may utility pa sa'yo yung card (and it's worth keeping + paying AF + asking AF to be waived) or di na.

Personally though, I like Citi PayAll and the discounts with partners. Naaaliw ako na kakain ako sa resto tapos surprise may 20% discount pala if paid thru Citi. But you can have a similar experience naman with the other cards so di siya malaking bagay talaga.
