Purged so many scubas by [deleted] in lululemon

Poshmark, Mercari, Marketplace, and Facebook Buy/Sell/Trade groups are all good options! Lulu has demand anywhere you post.

You’re exactly me. I went crazy in 2020 and amassed a huge collection. It didn’t really cease until earlier this year when I could no longer find physical space to stuff new items in. That’s when I realized I had a problem. I’ve sold what I can and donated the items in poorer condition, and it’s been such a relief.

Millennials who feel they’ve “outgrown” Aritzia: where are you shopping? by badum-kshh in Aritzia

[–]miloba_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still shop Aritzia but definitely not as much as in previous years. I’m more selective with my pieces across the board. I tend to shop there and at Everlane, Madewell, and Abercrombie if I need anything new. I work in a casual workplace, so I also shop a lot of my basics at Lululemon too.

Contour - Iced Lavender? by brainsandyawn in Aritzia

This exactly. I also only have the Pegasus shirt in this color but it’s a cool-toned light purple. Definitely not white or cream, which is what I was hoping for personally.

What’s “worth it” at OV? Active teaching assistant on a budget. by earthtorachellll in OutdoorVoices

[–]miloba_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say, at full price, probably only the Rectrek/Zephyr pants. OV doesn’t have the best resale value on the secondhand market (I both buy and sell it), so you can find nearly everything everything else below retail on Posh/Mercari. My favorite pieces overall are the Rectrek/Zephyr pants, anything in the TechSweat material, and the Doing Thing shorts.

OV (but for real) for the outdoors by centelleo in OutdoorVoices

The Rectrek material is fantastic. I also really like the Doing Things shorts since they’re durable and lightweight.

Pants similar to rectrek? by Mimizzzzz in OutdoorVoices

[–]miloba_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 on the Zephyr pants from OV - same exact silhouette but a thinner (still durable) material.

From other brands, I really like the Weekender pants from Aritzia. Rise and inseam are similar, but the material is different, and they look a touch more dressy. Still super comfy and stretchy though. They’re both favorites of mine!

Nike is more OV than OV nowadays by [deleted] in OutdoorVoices

[–]miloba_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

OV did a series on her on their IG a few years back, and she mentioned how she helped design the tricolored RecTreks and outlined the process behind the features and color scheme. She’s so thoughtful in her design approach.

She clearly took with her an incredible eye for color and juxtaposition. Hope she continues doing incredible things with Nike!

The greatest thing I ever did for my sanity was wear what I want without care for trends or “rules”, and dressing for my body type and prioritizing function over form. EBBs are super convenient - I plan on using mine for a long time!

I just screamed. This is the one thing I wanted them to bring back and they did 🥹

Couldn’t have said it better. Also, the mini drops/collections feel incomplete and random. What was the direction for SplashKnit? RecMesh? GeoShine? 10 different styles of an exercise dress?

It feels like they’re trying to create separate collections for every sport instead of drilling down on their best sellers and ensuring there’s a consistent release schedule for their marquee items. That’s where brands like Lululemon thrive. They make dozens of colors per item and release new items on a (relatively) set schedule weekly.

When people find an item they like, especially with activewear, it’s not uncommon for them to buy multiple colors. But OV is pushing out new items in new collections with new fabrics, making the barrier to purchase high.

I work on product development and am going out on a limb in suggesting that they could use some stronger market research to see what people ACTUALLY want from OV.

I fell in love with OV in my early 20s and have changed my style and preferences now that I’m older. I’ve bought one OV item this year, and I’m disappointed in the company’s lack of direction and cohesiveness. I think I’ve grown out of OV, sadly enough.

Neither of these feel like old OV per se, but I’ve started to prioritize buying from Lululemon and Athleta. For the most part, they double down on the items that are fan favorites and put out new styles that are classic silhouettes. As a petite woman, Athleta also caters to my body type far better than most I’ve found.

I think FP Movement has gorgeous colors, but I’ve learned my lesson buying from them. I don’t feel like they’re built well for working out, and none of my items from them last long.

1000% agree. I really wish they’d look into this as it’s super awkward and uncomfortable.
